go on to get PhD's and disover better sorting algorithms
Jesus. Christ. They don't even teach you people to sort properly anymore? That was CS/CE101 when I was still a computer engineering focus. And yes, I mean a multitude of sorts. Good ones. The only time I ever saw a bubble sort was when I had to pick one out of a list of assembler programs on a test.
wow, talk about lack of comprehension. think of all the sorting algorithm that currently exist; now know that one better than any currently existing probably exists. someone must discover this better sorting algorithm, long before it can be taught in CS/CE101. you may have a comp sci degree but you obviously didnt pass high school english
I can't imagine that 320 people have 420GB of business data stored on the company servers.
Person A sends 10 MB spreadsheet to B, C, D, E and F
Person C make one line edit, sends back to A, B, D, E and F
Person D changes a single letter typo, sends to A, B C, E and F ... (and so on)
Person A, B, C, D, E and F never delete old email, "just in case they need it one day"
its hard to imagine 320 knowledgeable computer users having 420GB of work email, its very easy to imagine 310 luddites having 418GB of redundant crap because they don't use a single repository.
well, actually i went into an apple store on the weekend and heard an iPod Hi-Fi, trust me, all that complaining is well deserved. its not worth AU$550, heck i think AU$100 computer speakers would give nicer sound. yes, computer speakers arent portable, nor do they offer ipod integration, but I'll be damned if those two features are worth AU$450. I know, I know... I'm not the target market
Nope, "3" is the 3G network of Hutchinson 3G UK Limited, which is 100% owned by Hutchinson Whampoa. Nothing to do with any of the UK big four (voda, orange, o2 and t-mobile).
doesnt this really just suggest that windows servers need regular replacing to keep doing their job while old unix hardware keeps doing its job just fine?
i think you're almost right, though id think the reason nintendo chose the route they did is that one group of gamers are complaining because they're idiots who dont make full use of the game they have (waaaa! its too short! i dont wanna play all the extra optional content), the other group are complaining about something outside of their control (ie. the game forcing you to do every side quest)
perhaps if you'd bothered to RTFA instead of just the summary, you'd know he's talking about the generation that grew up reading comic books, not the children of today. People in business, in their 30s and 40s, unable to write basic formal communications.
If you're in the hunt, don't focus on Windows 3.1 or ME, since as of June 30, 2006 Windows will no longer be issuing critical warnings for either of those Operating Systems even if they know they exist.
frankly im quite suprised windows 3.1 was issued critical warnings up until then
One of the biggest selling points of the A-250 system is the 2.4 GHz RF wireless connection. Windows 2000 or XP is required for the wireless (think Bluetooth) to function, and both of these operating systems have native drivers and no other software is required.
so is it bluetooth or isnt it? if it is, why "think bluetooth"?
as you own a pair perhaps you can answer this; what's the latency like? for instance can you watch a movie with them or does the audio lag behind the video?
i dont think theres much difference between 17 and 18, but remember the woo-har that occured when the hot coffee section of gta:sa was found. retarded parents across america were all like "OMG!!!11 theres sex hidden amongst all that violence!!! theres no way our 17 year old son timmy can play it now, that game was no way M(17+) material, it should have been AO(18+) so im suing rockstar". having the R rating there would keep morons happy, rather than banning anything that cant get M15+
Weeell, SafariBlock on the other hand will give you a context menu, where you can add block settings on the fly, and it also blocks Flash. Time to switch, eh? It also supports more modern features of CSS3 than Camino, I believe, like drop shadows on text etc.
Switch? thats what im currently using, as i mentioned here, three posts above yours.
im actually using safari with safariblock & saft right now since firefox for OS X is so horribly slow
I'd like to switch to Camino as it is definetely more responsive on my powerbook but its adblocking capabilities, even with addons, sucks
dettol doesnt numb them, it kills them... and fast too. you spray one shot of dettol on them and they hop off like crazy (they really dont like it), the next day youve got dried up toads all over your lawn. i think it absorbs into their skin and dries them right out
not trying to be to narky, but ive tried camitools; infact it was mentioned in the very post youre replying to. lack of blocking via context menu is a big issue for me
heh, thats hardly comparable
a:/etc/hosts doesnt collapse removed items, leaving big gaps where the ads were. barely any better than having the ad there
b:/etc/host doesnt allow you to selectively block content from a server. ie, when a site hosts its own ads you're stuffed.
Can anyone recommend a way to get adblocking comparable to adblock plus for firefox/mozilla? and no, usercontent.css doesnt count. i want context menus, with the abillity to block images/flash/iframes using simple wildcard string (none of that overly complex regexp stuff, i dont want to learn a syntax just to block an ad).
im actually using safari with safariblock & saft right now since firefox for OS X is so horribly slow. I used camino for a fortnight and loved the responsivness but blocking ads was to much effort, and to many would just still show up using camitools. i would jump to camino in a second if its adblocking even matched safariblocks featureset
If some people want to ultimately have their browser as some
kind of web based virtual computer thats up to them. But I don't
see why that sort of crap should be foisted upon the rest of us
who just want to look for stuff and do it quickly. I still have
to use dial up at home and I don't appreciate having to download
a 1 meg app just to view a friggin web page which could have been
rendered in HTML in a few kilobytes, albeit with a few less
poxy graphics (Boo bloody hoo).
out of context, 10 out of 10 people would guess your rant was about flash. do you actually know what you're ranting about? AJAX is very lightweight, though I'd love to see this 1MB page youre complaining about.
yeah, but the grandparent uses the word 'comparable' when he actually means 'is doing exactly the same things as'. look at posts above where he defends bush since he hasnt fired up the ovens yet.
PC gamers are to regular gamers like people in the NRA and who drive SUVs are to regular people driving their Toyota Yaris and who don't own guns -- they are making up for something, and they are willing to spend any amount of money to fix it.
Or they want to play independent games, which have historically been locked out of consoles.
and how many of those indie games require the $700 video card? you can play most indie games on quite dated hardware, i doubt any will require vista for a long time to come; many years after its release

one down, 49 to go. keep going...
nope, and more gamers today whinge that "games just arent fun any more" than did 5 years ago ;)

dettol is your answer. not in any way humane, but one spray and they hop off to die

Dude, i hope thats not a screenshot of your desktop... #gayteenchat?
ok, but if they dont show their passport how do they prove they have british citizenship?
i see youve never left your home soil; how do you think they catch fleeing criminals BEFORE they leave the country?
