Isn't it a bit disingenuous to call the transaction a "sale" for some purposes and a "license" for other purposes? The iTunes Music Store provides you a license to listen to the music (and a heavily restricted license at that), it doesn't sell you anything. So when you pay your 99 cents, are you buying or licensing? Or whatever suits the record company depending on the purpose?
Toronto is a fabulous venue for musicals! I grew up there and saw a few of the big productions like Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, and more recently went back to see The Lion King. It was always exciting and the cast did a real solid, professional job. I wish I had seen Cats when I lived there.
This all seems interesting enough on the surface, but if we allow this to happen, what will happen next?
In addition to the obvious ramifications pointed out in the article, I can only imagine that this will lead to a bunch of spam that is "customized" to the recipient, making it more offensive yet even more difficult to filter out.
So to me the real question, would it embark us on a dangerous downward spiral of complacency, or tap the inner strength of our individual selves to propel our civilization to new heights.
As someone once observed, it's like stapling a butterfly to a desk. There's no way it would continue to be a butterfly.
After all, well-behaved people rarely make history.
This is how it happens now. Hang on, and enjoy the ride!

If they give you 4 time slots, and there are a total of 8 time slots per channel, what happens when you have more than 2 users in the same area trying to download a large file simultaneously?

Interesting. Now do they still deduct 15% from the retailer's invoice?

In Soviet Russia, if keylogging program does not execute, they execute YOU!

Too bad they are abandoning it. Fortunately for me, I'm still using QBASIC for all of my programming! Sassan

Uh, I don't think so. Wasn't Spam Arrest the one who spammed everyone who ever sent email to any of their subscribers - to advertise their anti-spam service? http://www.google.ca/search?q=spam+arrest+spammed+ customers

Here in Canada, it's so cold outside that I swear I saw a SCO lawyer with his hand in his own pocket. Sassan
