This php webserver reminds me of HTTPi a webserver written in 100% perl. Neither of which are that hard when you know. However Anders "Pugo" Karlsson
wrote a webserver called PS HTTPD in postscript. Now that I found very impressive:)
I appreciate the tim time you took to provide an informed reply to my posting. However a small fact that you overlooked was that the word medical did NOT appear in my own posting. As I am sure you are very well aware PhD research is also conducted at hospitals!
Posted without a karma bonus so I'm not accused of karma.... well you know. I would have posted anonymously but I've alrealy posted anon 10 jokes today:-)
Oh dear, I am writing this on my original IBM System 360 by punching the holes in the paper tape by hand. Does that mean that I win?
No as I was simply replying in mutual agreement (as a fellow 486 user) to help ensure this poster got modded up - I am pleased to see that happened! Believe it or not there are actually people on slashdot who don't mind risking mod points to help other interesting posts relevant to the topic get modded up.
If like myself you also have a background in IBM mainframes then you might like to try Hercules.
Use DooM Remake...it's sweet. Has IP and server configs all built in
Interesting. Thx. Although reading through posts on the net I have seen several people suggesting using the Win32 port JDoom instead.
Still for many of us actually using old 386/486 (and below:) hardware is all part of the fun. In addition the joy of having old hardware lying around is you can take risks with it which you wouldn't want to do with your new PC, besides it's also fun to do things with older hardware that people wouldn't think was possible on such old equipment e.g. here is one of my favourites a webserver on a 8088.
Ok a quick summary of the power/benefits of DRM (Digital Radio Modiale) (aka digital AM radio) based on MOEYT's presentation together with some useful links:
FM sound quality with wide AM reach with digital reception quality
Digital tuning support station text
Supports multiple channels with digital audio/text/other services
The frars talk I attended was given by
M0EYT and covered the future of long range digital broadcasts using Digital Radio Modiale. The BBC research labs and many others are involved with DRM research. Just about to load up M0EYT's talk (which unfortunately isn't publically available - sorry!).
Totally agree. I think sending streams of public data over long range radio would help, e.g. by making using GNU software radio project. Just hunting down some links from a very good talk on the forth coming long wave digital radio that I attended at FRARS.
I agree with your comments/thoughts - now that is I have actually woken up. Damn really must stop posting to slashdot when still half a sleep:) Personally I would have modded my original 2 posts to this discussion topic. Still even fairly stupid posts help generate insightful responses such as yours.
Grrrrr.... Sometimes people make mistakes. I made a mistake (after catching up on sleep and posting when my eyes were still glazed over...)
I suggest you read my
reply here in which I admit I was wrong.
Your right this is worthy of slashdot.... I did a bit a searching and now realise just how much "research" this guy was producing and then being quoted on. e.g:
As it happens I was discussing eznos.org's webserver running on a 8088 earlier today.
Very true. Only some languages are a bit more difficult than others. Still for real quick and dirty 1 page efforts NetCat makes a great webserver ;)

Nah. They should do it in true dot.com fashion via a webcam with lots of cardboard and pens....

The worn out mouse and keyboard only, right? :-)

15 years old and still routing my packets. :))
Lol. Me too! I use a Compaq XE 450 as one of my routers and it happily chugging away.

Grrrrr... [bangs head on table].
That should have read "Personally I would have modded down my original 2 posts".
OK definately coffee time and no more Slashdot!!!

RTFA. I did and have since re-read it and found the following informative information.

I mean that You can't strip someone of knowledge
Indeed but if you are fabricating data you are proving that you didn't have that knowledge in the first place.
I strongly suspect his thesis did not contain any errors
Fabricated data is very likely to mean data he made up = errors
You lie, your lie evenutally catches up with you and you pay the consequences [end of story]. Definately nothing to see here, move on !
So does this mean soon we will see bluejacking with music....?
