It went Windows, Linux (around the time of Vista, for obvious reasons), OS X (work got me a new iMac, figured I might as well give it a chance), then back to Linux. I love Linux. Everything is open to the user to be configured as they wish... whether to make things faster and more efficient, or shoot themselves in the foot. I like that. (Ubuntu may be a little bit more like Windows now, which is why I moved to another distro.)
But then, I'm a developer. I'm not exactly the most common type of user. Even at my workplace, we have maybe four Mac users, a Windows user, and myself with Linux. It all works out. Just use whatever works best with your workflow, and ignore the haters. I find that last bit is a good rule for life in general.
Wouldn't the Supreme Court have to rule for this to apply? Couldn't the DHS just accept this ruling and not appeal, thus keeping the status quo because the border is a national issue and this hasn't been ruled upon by a body with national jurisdiction?
First, you're not the grandparent. Second, you have a much lower UID. Either you're trying to make a point about being a fan of Microsoft (to which I have said nothing), or you forgot to log back into your astroturfing account.
It currently sits on my front porch, having been delivered at some point early last year. I'm curious to see if the next one will simply be piled atop its remains!
Prenda is just going to offer to settle for $3,000 or something with each of these people (along with a gag agreement), and drop the case against them if they let it go to court. Bank on it.
Gates and Woz are each more respectable than the knuckleheads they did trot out combined.
Absolutely. I'm not defending them, I'm simply trying to understand their thinking.
(Well, maybe with the exception of Clinton. I have a lot of respect for him. That doesn't change the fact that I doubt he could print something to the screen in BASIC.)

They don't care about you as a person, and the reports aren't on you personally, they're aggregate. Mostly, they're built and sent by the ad-CAPTCHA provider to the client(s) to prove that they're doing what they say they're doing.

Excuse me, aliens haven't contacted us yet because we don't yet have warp technology, so they're prevented by the Prime Directive.
And you call yourself a geek.
That took longer than I thought it would.
Why not? Women do that to men all the time.
Yep, and those women are wrong to do so.

I can echo this, MATE is awesome. Cinnamon is good too; it's like Unity but more configurable.
There's no reason to extrapolate one woman to all women. But yes, Carly was bad.
Doubtful.

Doubly demeaning! Drones do disgust denizens during democratic dealings. Dear Deity.

If they actually do stack it on top, I'm going to start putting grave markers with years behind each of them and make a little display.
All or nearly all of your comments are pro-Microsoft and anti-Microsoft competitors.
News at eleven.

My guess is that making coding look "cool" is their top priority, and so they avoid bringing out anyone who looks overly "geeky".
And sue for what? Actual damages? What actual damages? The best you could claim would be a (very small) portion of your internet bill for the month.
Welcome to the party, you're a few years late.

Ray, given that they withdrew the case, does that still make this ruling precedent? And on what level of precedent? Federal, or just this circuit?
Even if it doesn't get slapped down, websites with anonymous posting can just use geolocation and block Illinois.
I believe the law should allow unlocking of one's cell phone regardless of contract status.
I believe the law should allow the party of a contract, in which the other party has breached, to seek reparations and/or an early termination fee.
These thoughts are not mutually exclusive.
I fully expect to see a response written by the CEO of Verizon.

Those people will disappear very, very quickly.
