This is what I consider Fake News. Someone is seriously concerned about the meta data in their image files taking up space? Are they still using floppy disks? How is a few MB of meta data considered bloat? Dumb
A lot of times group brainstorming sessions are less about generating new ideas and more about making an open environment to get team members to communicate and share their ideas.
That concept only makes sense in certain situations... What about video or photo editing. Sure you can process photos programatically, but what about making someones arm pop out of focus or rotoscoping and the like. A great GUI with a the capabilities to record actions such as in Adobes Photoshop definitely make for a powerful tool when the user doesn't have to learn or write any code or scripts whatsoever...
Judging a site based on the thinking that "YOU" are the target audience is the wrong way to judge it. Disney.com does a fabulous job for its target market using flash. I'd argue one of the best flash web sites around.
Don't start these topics without trying to find the answer yourself first... Haven't tested it yet... "...since Flash Player is not available for it(haven't tested it yet)." Test it and do some research first...
I would agree with Richard Steiner (1585) that the idea is a good one... though the third party requirement is bogus.
With now over 500 cars and 100 tracks in Gran Turismo 4 it is more than a marginal improvement. Improvements take place in more than the "visual" appeal of a game. Games don't always need more polys to be better. The physics engine, the game play, the variation... and most of all... Gran Turismo 4 will include online play for up to 6 drivers at a time! Now that is what almost every Gran Turismo player has been waiting for!
My treo 300 flip cover just cracked last week and is barely staying together. The 600 has come along just in time. More and more people are reporting on treocentral.com that their T300 flip covers are breaking. I'm glad to be rid of it!
For most of my Photoshop use (and I do own it legally) I use keyboard shortcuts. And gimp has no where near the capabilities of photoshop. Just one major thing... CMYK.. Hmm.. sorry. The right clicking and different user interface have nothing to do with each programs capabilities.
Its unfortunate that NAN is no more. I've been working with blender for the last year or so and for its size and for being free it was a great program. Definitely would not replace Lightwave, Max or Maya but in its own right is a good program. I hope some entity can pickup Blender and move it forward. Maybe the direction they were moving wasn't right... maybe it was. Sad to see it go.
And to clarify... Blender 2.23 was the last free version. 2.24 and 2.25 were the purchase versions that had bug fixes and upgraded functionality.
I remember spending hours upon hours at the arcade playing games like Street Fighter 2, MK and Killer Instinct. They were/are extremely fun in my opinion. It used to be that you'd wait in line to play and then when you did.. you either proved your self and stayed at the front of the line or you had to shortly rejoin the back of the line.
Ah.. Good times... At least on KI.. I was usually at the front of the line.
They do what every other retail store does for discounts.

3D is far from a small market. Almost every feature film out there has some sort of 3D in it. Look at ICE AGE coming out tomorrow... hmmm all 3D.
