I agree. All the chips in the FX TDP arena are 95-125W. I'm thinking it'll be more, but not almost double. More in the 140-165W range. AMD is going for the 5 GHz media sensation buzz, not power buzz.
Most of the people listening to mp3s (that I know, self included) don't listen to the music on a nice system. Earbuds rarely provide definition or range of the actual recorded material. Yes, they may provide frequencies from 50-15,000 Hz, but you're not really feeling the bass line as recorded. Even if listening to a CD/DVD with 5.1, with the earbuds on, it may as well be a mp3.
When I go a big box or electronic store, I see a dozen Windows machines. Maybe a Macbook or iMac here and there. I've never seen a Linux box on display, never mind the distro. I have Fedora at home, but stuck with XP at work. I see iPhone/iPads/Macbooks all over, so those must be popular too. I just don't see many linux distros out there, unless everyone has an environment which mimics Windows!
Yes, I can tell people how cool it is, but if they don't see it at stores or at work, I'm just a lone computer geek!
I can't find it on there. Laurentian Abyssal Plain (canal) - check. Reykjanes Ridge (Red Route One) - check. Neptune Massive.......nope! Is Russia suppressing this info? Wait, what's 'Neptune Massive' in Russian?
"medical enterprise customers" need to have a lot of electrical equipment on and ready at a moments notice. Everything from computers and displays for simple billing and address info, to high-def displays for medical images from maybe a digital x-ray, to a MRI or CT units. Not to mention all the hallway and room lights. I'm not suggesting a 'green' MRI, but there are still a lot of displays, lights, and monitors that could be 'green.'
I suspect this may just be the first BSOD due to the Protected Media Path stuff. iTunes happens to be very very popular, so we all get to read about it. As more and more apps get developed to do something with A/V media, we'll see more and more problems. Apple happens to be the hot company du jour, so lots of coverage too.
Google could reap huge gains, I feel, if they capitalized on the distrust and hatred of Microsoft, and created a tool to transfer all your emails, photos, buddies, etc. under the Yahoo umbrella to the respective Google umbrella. Yes, we could do a lot of that now, but a nice ALAX page, perhaps with a few clicks would be nice. I'm not a huge Google fan-boy, but I'm at a loss to come up with another Internet company that has everything Yahoo and Google have to offer.
Not tryin' to be a smart ass here, but I don't use Vista. What if the file or folder you want to restore is gone following a deletion? Can you get a previous version of the drive?
That didn't sound right to me. And although I don't have access to the full Billboard charts, who I guess would have all that data, the next best would be wikipedia, which shows Garth selling more then 100 million, but behind Led Zeppelin, selling more the 250 million.
I have to think that some of the restrictions imposed by DRM and security concerns forced Apple to create a new protocol. By including iTunes, they also need to protect all that media from unwanted 'eavesdropping' and the like.
I'm curious as to which security hole or human weakness he used. I see from his site and Netcraft that a lot of sites were Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 running IIS, but there is also Apache on Linux.
I wonder if Apple will move the CPU and associated bridge to the top half of the laptop, so heat vents up and out the top, a la the iMac. That might drop the size by dropping a relatively big fan wheel, but I don't think there can be much more of a drop in thickness while still including an optical drive and all the necessary ports to the outside world.
I wonder if Dell was involved in some way. Maybe some contractual obligation to provide support for systems Dell ships in order to maintain their license fees, blah blah blah...
No, I'm not saying Linux is a little guy. What I mean is, is this punishment for a small programmer that adds a small feature to the code base but doesn't have the time/energy/money/idea to patent it? But MS later patents something very similar. Here's to locating prior art.

Or, "Let's laugh WITH that (mentally ill) person!"

Can't wait until I get pulled over and the police officer shines that in my eyes to see if I'm under the influence or some such nonsense.
Worried about anyone with spare cash and time, or any government with spare time and mo...., er, just any government?
I said iPod. I wanted an iPod for christmas! What am I supposed to do with this?

Time to pull my Mac SE running a First Class BBS. I think there might be a mp3 on there.

Now how can I work this into my salary.......

Time to report to sleepshop
The RIAA better take a look at amnesty now, before it costs them too much!

With a stock price above $450, Google needs to start making a lot of money to keep the shareholders happy
