I guess no one loads any 3rd party software on a mac. No one uses bittorrent, or firefox, or ANYTHING right? Fact is, you get a trojan on a mac, and you'll have your idenity stolen non-stop for years until you buy a new computer. And you'll never realize why it's happening. Amazing.
PGP is the gold standard for whole disk encryption. Encrypting your entire hard drive wasn't really even possible a few years ago. PGP is leading the way. You cry about a few things like compression. Are you serious?!?!? You compress your hard drive? Why not buy a bigger one??? You want multiple partitions so you can boot linux. Sure, you can do that.
But what it all comes down to is: Security > ALL. Learn it, know it, love it.
Regardless of the outcome, this is great for walmarts PR.
They're seen as this evil empire, but if they're fighting for US, that turns the image around somewhat.

This author is a moron. Antivirus is amost worthless at this point. In 5 years it will be of no use. Antivirus is good for catching old viruses that were made for the masses. Antivirus will NOT stop custom made viruses, targeted viruses, new viruses.
And on top of that, its very very easy to bypass antivirus if you know what you're doing. I can make any virus pass through AV in with about 15 minutes of work.

This is bull. iPod is a fad. It looks cool. Thats it. And when someone like sony comes up with something that looks cooler, apple will go out of business.
I've been using linux for a few years on my home laptop just to stay ahead of the curve. I'm a windows Sys Admin, and I want to be ready.
I'm not a huge fan though. I cant play half the videos I download, wireless in suse sucks. Fedora stoped loading KDE completely one day for no apparent reason.
They're just putting off the inevitable. Apple will be out of business in 5 years. As soon as this MP3 player fad wears off, they will sink like a rock.

The ONLY reason to use linux is because you either can find a mere $200 for a polished OS, or you just want to play around.
I've used linux on my home laptop for years, and its at least 10 years behind XP in terms of just about everything.
Its fine for surfing the web and basic things. But anything else....
Download.com already does this.

IMO, linux is still 10 years behind microsoft.

HTML webpages or IMs or whatever.
Then send those wirelessly and have the handheld convert them back to email. Thus, they're not doing "wireless email"....
