    I seriously doubt XP is faster than e.g. Ratpoison or Fvwm. I would guess the original poster considers KDE and Gnome slow (and bloated) as well. I know I do.

    I don't watch Anime but English books, movies and series translated to german are constantly of such a bad quality that I refuse to read/watch them. The only exception are books actually translated by people working in the same field as the original author but even those are far from excellent quality.

    Adequate Translation seems to be something big companies often forget in their budgets for localized content.

    I would not say switching is not an option but you should get comfortable using Linux at home a few years before you do anything important with it at work or even pretend to be a professional Linux Admin when you apply for a job.

    Apparently, one engineer had worked on the project for something like a year and a half before they realized that he hadn't been doing anything when at work, had been forging his progress reports, and all he had to show for the project was an animation of a dancing frog.

    Because I think the evidence that Jesus rose from the dead is very strong and that His earliest disciples were trustworthy witnesses to His teaching.
    And which part of the bible is written by one of Jesus' earliest disciples? AFAIK it was assembled decades or centuries (parts earlier, parts later) after the date where Jesus lived according to the church/bible.

    ...and older versions should be able to read some kind of version field telling you which version is required to open the document.

    Who is accountable for the security of the Linux kernel? Does Red Hat, for example, take responsibility?
    From these words I conclude that any business that lost time/money from Security Holes or Bugs in Windows they can go to Microsoft and present a bill which Microsoft will gladly pay.

    The reason you almost never get 0 results with "netstat -a" in Linux is that it lists Unix Sockets in addition to Network (TCP&UPD) Sockets which are used by X11, your systemlogger and other programs but are strictly local.

    It would surprise me if you got better performance with any encrypted filesystem than with the unencrypted version of the same filesystem.

    Could you give an example for one of these "IE-only sites" I keep hearing about. I never found a single one of them with Opera in Linux in the last years (except for those that checked the ID String and told you you should use IE but the last one of those I had about 2-3 years ago and they are easy to fool by changing the ID)

    News for you: Business Software (from MS and other companies) doesn't interoperate flawlessly either. Quite the opposite. Even different versions of Office create big problems for untrained users that have to be resolved by the admins.

    It becomes false advertising if you can't transfer at the given speed for a reasonable amount of time. A 2 GB Limit for 8 MBit/sec would give you less than one hour at max speed for example.
