I know what you mean. I live in Luxembourg and the whole Petite Bourgeoisie drives Audis or beamers. (said the Volvo owner)
PS: Honestly, what's (really) wrong with Volvos?
I'm afraid the accuracy of the predictions are the least relevant thing here, they are merely a political tool on behalf the bank. Don't believe me? This bank sponsored (until very recently) a political party of its own, which made its way into the Danish parliament. They, too, are Ayn Rand worshippers and their whole anarcho-libertarian view lines up very well with those of the bank's founders.
To give you an idea of the political viewpoints of Saxo Bank making the predictions: They made their own translation of Atlas Shrugged into Danish and give it to all new employees with instructions to read it (according to a Danish newspaper quite a bit of time ago).
Sorry. But that title belongs to all the tricked-out BMW boyracers in their 250kkm+ wrecks, the idiot who transplanted a Honda VTEC into his old VW Golf Mk I and all Skoda drivers frustrated at the fact they couldn't even afford a VW.
The Volvo XC60 has had this feature from the launch of the first models in 2008, if my memory serves me right. I can confirm that it works rather well on our XC60. It only detects obstacles in front of the car, though.
Yes, that was a cheap shot. I deal with French engineers on a daily basis and I am not under the impression that they should perform worse than their American equivalents.
In fact, our subcon has a French FAE working very hard to fix all the regressions and firmware bugs produced by H1B workers in Silicon Valley.
I used to work here in Europe for a company based somewhere on the US-west coast. Meeting invitations from 8 to 11PM were the norm on every workday, usually called by american employees in the office who didnt realize or bother too much about the time difference. Most of the meetings had the purpose of reaffirming the importance of the US-employee meeting organizer and generally, there was a lot of unproductive and inefficient blathering going on.
Yeah, you work long hours, but man, you also really waste a lot of your time in the office for the sake of looking busy and important.
Just keep repeating that myth about the lazy Europeans on the brink of financial disaster to yourselves.
Those 4-6 weeks of vacation per year really are destroying the economies of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, UK and Ireland....right??:-)
Oh well, the Nexus 5 was my first Android phone after the iPhone 3GS. Android (and especially the supposedly cleaner Google builds) isn't all it's cracked up to be. 5.0 made the phone much less responsive than on 4.4.4 and 5.0.1 didn't help. I don't suppose 5.1 will either.
Jolla/Sailfish sounds like an interesting option for the next purchase.
That would be much better than the current offering from Stratasys, where the Mojo 3D printer is 10.000 EUR and the ABS/Support cartridges are 200 EUR each.
So why do people actually believe Google is the lesser evil? Because they allow arbitratry code execution in their mobile OS, and therefore must standup guys?
They sit on so much exploitable information on a large part of the world's population. It has got to corrupt them at some point in time.
I long for an affordable, secure and non-shitty smartphone without the surveillance bits and with an actual app eco system. Yes, that's a lot to ask.
Citation needed. I haven't customized the shit out of my new Nexus 5, but I have experienced the odd freeze-up, requiring a restart. I don't recall ever seeing that on my old iOS device, and quite frankly, the ability to make your UI look like even more like shit is not something I'd choose another time. And while Apple's garden may be walled, Google's is under constant surveillance, recorded for later use.
Everyone says that Android is the bee's knees. I just don't see it.
the besmirching was unintended. KSP seems like a mighty fine and educational game. Actually I'm holding off with trying it, as I need to get a lot of work done at the moment....which also explains why I'm here posting on slashdot...
I have a Nexus 5. It really isn't the bee's knees. It has more counterintuitive sub-sub-submenus than an old HP network analyzer and you need to root it to control app privileges. Lame.
I'm not sure how many new sewers liquidating the ISRO will buy you...
Minimum wage or not, automation would have killed low paying jobs eventually.
Ever heard about the Whiskey on the Rocks incident?

I seem to remember a publication in Nature from 2013. Seems the Germans already did something comparable a few years ago. Over 20m distance that is.
Did you ever hear about quadrature modulation?

Well, Sullenberger did seem to manage with his A320, though. In the end, it comes down to the pilot knowing the plane's behaviour and capabilities.
There is no substitute for soot and thunderous noise. I thought that would be just the thing for you USians?

Yeah, just like terahertz technology.

I care about you.

Amen to that.
How pathetic is it to realize that you could have done the exact same thing on the old phone.
"long-term stability"

Using brand value to characterize the performance of a company is roughly equivalent to using Kerbal Space Program to plan supply missions to the ISS,
