Hey - System76 Employee here...
Quite a few of our higher end machines offer Matte upgrades, including 95% NTSC as well. We have a few on back-order currently but our Gazelle and Serval models both support Matte upgrades.
No... if you check out what it does, it uses Javascript to have YOUR computer request random files from whatever the target site is - so you would have to block all legitimate browser traffic.
I tried 1and1 as well. Bad news. The service I found to be pretty bad, slow responses to emails and difficult to cancel an account. Granted, nothing can be as difficult as transferring a domain out of go-daddy's hosting, but it was still hard none-the-less.
In the last year I can only think of one, maybe two, good titles worth purchasing. I download games to try them, if I enjoy them I buy them. I know not everyone will act in such an honest fashion, but on my own accord I feel that I am justified in doing this.
If the game publishers would start putting out good games rather than absolute crap (listen up EA!) then maybe we'd all start buying things again. Same goes for the music industry.
Maybe you missed the whole area of the interview about the new PvP system(do you even read the links anymore before you comment?)
And maybe the reason they are releasing an expansion is because they realized people wanted more to do than just go and farm rep. and honor. (Oh hey, a whole new continent? new quests? great idea!)
All of those new games do look good, but I guaruntee they won't really steal much of WoW's playerbase. Sure, there have been entire guilds that have said "Let's go start up in Vanguard when it's released..." A couple 100 person guilds is nothing compared to a 6.5 million person userbase.
No, believe me. CTrax is an absolute piece of crap. Last time I used it I could only access it via internet explorer, and if you queued up more than one song (even just two) to download rather than picking one at a time it would slow the interface down to absolute crap.
I actually interviewed to work with them and used the opportunity to basically tell them why their product sucked and why nobody was using it rather than to try to obtain a job. It ended as such and I wonder to this day if they've improved at all because I refuse to even visit the service. All of my friends have stayed away from it as well for this reason.
In any case, if I'm offered a "legal" means to download the song then why can't I simply obtain that song via different means that may be faster (such as the DC++ network we had running at Purdue for a while, or via torrents)? It makes NO sense to me to say I can get the song one way but not another, even if the only difference is the DRM that is thrown and blown all over the song. (I could, after all, just use it myself for personal use and not burn it; which is exactly what I did with them).
Free translates for me as: you get what you pay for.
I have yet to see a first person shooter with a war-setting be able to coordinate computer players with a human player efficiently. Games like Brothers in Arms and Ghost Recon - Advanced Warfighter require you to micromanage just about every single movement of your squad, when you would rather have them think for themselves (at least enough to shoot back at enemies).
Example: I was playing Ghost Recon and my "squad" was following me across and alley when we came under fire from a guy in plain sight. My squad just bunkered down in the open alley and didn't even try to save themselves. After they all died off I turned the corner, and easily took out the guy thinking to myself "What idiots would just sit there waiting for an order to shoot back when being killed off?"
Has anyone here been to the #ubuntu channel on irc.freenode.net? YOu will find that Automatix is regarded as THE WORST option for ubuntu users. It has huge security holes, overwrites configs, and uses very risky command line options. Instead you should use easyubuntu. http://easyubuntu.freecontrib.org/
It still has some issues with it being set to run or not. I run this on my ubuntu setup for my IBM T43 and if you unplug the laptop and plug it back in, it thinks it is still unplugged. Thus, the screen turns off after set ammount of time, etc. etc. (which I prefer to be always on if it's plugged in). And changing it's settings are buggy.
It does get me over 3 hours of battery life, however, with my centrino processor which I really can't complain about. And with full brightness I still get 2 hours so long as I'm not doing any gaming or anything (DVD = over 2 hours low brightness)
This is the best thing that could have happened... the more stubborn and ridiculous microsoft acts, the more they will have to rely on how good their product is rather than monopolization... and with that, either windows will get better or linux will become more prevalent. Either way I'm happy
better than microsoft should be the new goal of firefox. Microsoft left clear holes in their program by giving it too much access in certain unrestricted ways (Cough, Active X, Cough) that made it so vulnerable.
Although Firefox may become popular, if the maintainers and coders do it right, they can keep it spyware-proof. Let's also not forget that most vilanous spyware requires no specific browser and instead is run secretly in the background of the computer's processes. That's a windows problem.
I've never known Bill Gates to be a immoral person in or out of the business world. I think it is well known that he is one of the largest philanthropists that this day has seen (He has made even larger donations, you know), but the point of concern is that he is so hated by the Linux community. Although I am an avid linux user and supporter (it's just better!) I have never look coursely at Bill Gates for creating an Operating System that jump started the PC market and has helped grow many new ideas such as the internet and email by including clients in its windows distribution. Sure it's unstable, and unsafe... but I have a feeling that Linux would be if it were on top and people were just targeting the "next guy on top" to be able to hit as many people as they want.
Of course, there is the point that many virus-writers are simply micro$oft haters, and thus target the OS in an effort to usurp power and set Linux on the throne.

Does anyone even use SF anymore?
And.... that site is down!

not to be a troll but... most demos suck, are buggy, are harder to obtain than a cracked version of the game, etc. etc.

we think that timespan is a load of crap? evolution still isn't proven you silly way-thinkers!

Is this a new version of Dapper Drake? 6.07? That's a cute name for ubuntu: Suse.

a giant penis. Anyone else think that was strange, watching a ballerina caress some strange robotic penis?

Binary? yes.... readable? Most definitely... Here ya go: http://www.funnylookinhat.com/sw-rev-torrent.txt
go to purdue. j00 sux0r!
And the server is already dying....
Mirror?!
Update it. I haven't lost performance with any of my games... chances are that your system with automatic updates has already partially installed SP2.

Think about it: What's the one thing every guy should have in his living domain?
