>>Since when does "commercial" activity have anything to do with volume and not whether money changed hands?
It doesn't, and no one suggested that it did. You seem to be implying that the Audio Home Recording Act only prohibits commercial activity, but that's not the case.
Yes indeed. You hear the most outrageous lies about it. Half-baked goggle-box do-gooders telling everyone it's bad for you. Pernicious nonsense! Everyone can stand a hundred chest x-rays a year. They oughta have 'em too.
>>Novell and Bruce Perens aren't the bad guys here, they just got scammed (Please, for the sake of the future of Novell, please don't forward Bruce any emails that state the Prince of Nigeria needs some cash to escape the country).
I don't understand why you think that Bruce Perens got scammed... he's the one sounding the alarm!
An excerpt:
"CHOM stopped airing Stern in August of 1998, and Q107 did the same in November 2001. Officially Q107's owners claimed they dropped Stern because they wanted to return to an all music, classic rock format, but it is widely rumoured that the real reason was a combination of falling ratings (Stern's last ratings in Toronto were around a 6% share, somewhere around 6th or 7th place in the market"
Also from the same Wiki:
"However, the CRTC had not in fact banned Stern's broadcast in Canada"
>>actually, that isnt true. he was removed from the air by the canadian government.
Nope. There were lots of complaints to the CRTC (the Canadian Radio & Television Commitee, which regulates this sort of thing), but CHOM (the station he was on in Montreal) made the decision to dump him as he had alienated much of their listenership.
He was still on Q-107 in Toronto after that, but ratings declined until 2001 when they finally dumped him.
iTunes unencrypts the m4p file to AAC, then transcodes the AAC file to.wav before sending to the sound card driver. QTFairUse6 just intercepts the AAC datastream before it gets transformed to.wav and writes it to disk.
The Grandparent Post never said hiding the problem was a cure. Hiding the problem *until there is a cure* would lower the number of exploits, that's all. Might delay a cure too.
>>"God gave us these things to use. After the last tree is felled, Christ will come back," Watt said in public testimony that helped get him fired.
Not true. Austin Miles said this. Bill Moyers mistakenly reported it as a James Watt quote. Watt demanded a public apology from Moyers, and got it.
I'm surprised it was the measles and not Glandular Fever.
Conventional wisdom suggests that Microsoft is subsceptible to virii because of their "Mono" culture.
Thank you, I'm here all week, try the veal!
And when you learn how to program, and learn about such topics as "steganography", and how such topics differ from "stenography", perhaps you won't be such a fucking idiot;)

No, you can't. 1U is 1.75" in height. A Mac Mini is 2"x6.5"x6.5".
You appear to be stating the above as fact... do you have a source for this?
