Perhaps the parent shops in different shop...which is in different country...which in turn is in different continent?
This isn't "Slahsdot. News for US Nerds. Stuff that matters in US, you know";P
But really, if for example I want to buy anything here, I must multiply the price by 2...
Growth doesn't mean stats. I'd say awareness of the world, its social niuances etc. is much more important, but it happens ON YOU, not on the stats of the character...
And also something about details beyond the track: Road Rush 3D (also with traffic btw) had some sort of "3 stage" scenery: first you see the city as a static background, then it shifts into intermediate phase, than you drive trgough it and at the time something else is at the horizon.
Makes you wonder that thos could be done with PSOne...(also Driver of course)
It just proves that media & politicians are idiots and they played Rockstar game AGAIN (you would thin they would learn after first GTA), promoting their not-so-great game...
Huh? Are you serious? If you point was true than give me one valid reson why I, student of psychology, couldn't say: why should anybody be bothered too much with such unimportant stuff like technology, stuff that doesn't really matter, when we can focus on the true essence of ourselves?
There's a difference IMHO. Not visible at first sight, because it applies mostly to certain small part of nanotechnology: nanomachines (but seeing as people confuse the two all the time...who knows if that's not the case with this course). The same was true with nuclear power to lesser extent, and will (?) be true with AI to much greater extent.
Basically: those are the technologies that could destroy us. So the background this course gives is much appreciated. It'll help to realise how to handle with new situation for mankind, and how to make the society even realise it's the new situation (sure, one could say: not the job of the scientists behind the project themeselfes, but perhaps someone a little bit over them; but I think everyone working on such things should be aware...)
ok, I'll expalin. Mars atmosphere != Earth atmosphere. In the same sense as 200kmph tornado is much less devastating than hypothetical 200kmph wall of water. Got it? (and the Beagle probably has been found)
Actually, basing it on weight would be also flawed a little. A car, according to law, can weight max 3,5 tonnes (here of course; if it's heavier then than it's classified differently (some would probably say it's SUV...), you need "better" license to drive it and...taxes are higher (quite the opposite tha with SUVs, huh?)). However for a road 3t makes almost no difference in comparison with 1,5. But a 15 or 25t truck... So in case of vehicles used for cargo this makes sense...not for cars IMHO.
Here it's all based on size of the engine (and how old the car is, if you're buying it). Not sure if I could come up with something better...
Crap, forgot to mention one thing: you ARE right to some extent, in that Blu-Ray players are more capable (marginally from my perspective, but still). However I also doubt this will have any impact: first players will be helluva expensive in both cases, and when the time of 50$ players with razor thin margins will come, probably one of the formats will be the winner for a long time...
You understand it wrong. Methods are the same in case of lasers/(forgot english world: the thing that moves them - and that's the more expensive part of the two). And inanu case they need to design new ones.
What you wrote applies to discs however (and I somehow doubt it will have impact on price of movies in shops...)
But how it will be priced? I hope - very competitively, perhaps I'll finally afford some not-shitty portable console.
Also I hope it will be durable, built to last for years (I don't see myslef needing better graphics than GBA offers when on the go - I want simple, quick & fun games; and besides in place I live, and in settings in which I'd use GB, it's better not to use PSP...)
Using deafult settings is the problem (at least here in EU, Poland, specifically). They're all...well, colours are waaays too saturated (it just doesn't look like real world dammit), contrast also way too high. But people buy this trick ("oh, look how nice, intensive colours, this TV must be good), and the funniest thing is when they see my TV on (rare sight...but still), and say something like "is it broken?" or "why do the colours aren't as nice as on mine" when THE COLOURS ARE SET TO MIMICK REALITY.
Do you know what "is" mean? It is something like "=" applying to present time.
Progress IS NOT Soyuz. You wrote arguments behind it yourself:
Perhaps it began (was) like this. Perhaps one of the three main modules is the same - which leaves us two more, much more important because they make it what it is.
And we're talking what it is.
Launch vehicle has nothing to do with it - it was also used to launch maaany satellites/probes. Do you call them all "Soyuz"?

generic street racing game: Driver (ok, only if you count as racing running from the police :> )

You're hallucinating...

Ypu're forgetting about the fact that there isn't enough pressure on Mars to do something like this...

ad2: well, we can only speculate about his chainsaw...
And experiment of Milgram would also apply (although, counter-intuitevelly, not as much)
Philip ZImbardo would say something about it...
Basically, if you feel instructed, have support, etc. of authority, you'll do much "worse" things that by yourself.
Excluding P series Matrox cards...
They in every recent X...
(for the whole G series)

Sun Fire...why I connect it with often happening result of linking to sites from /. ? :>
??
Costs of players are virtally the same...only manufacturing costs of the discs differ (or rather: will differ initially)
More easily? You imply that Blue Ray players have ANY problems?

And anyway...why do I even waste time shifting the point of mine/original poster posts to technical genealogy?
We were talking about FUNCTION, that was the whole point. In light of it Progress is an ENTIRELLY different beast than Soyuz.
