    In the end I bought a console and didn't look back.

    Yeah, that's the problem I have with console games too... you can't look back very easily.

    With a controller, turning around to look behind you is a slow and cumbersome task. I much prefer a keyboard and mouse because you can spin around in under a second, it makes the game feel a lot faster.

    I think this is quite a valid strategy. It's liek Visual Basic, it turns application development into a drag and drop excercise. Anyone can do it, even people who don't really understand programming! However that results in Visual Basic getting a bad reputation because anything that's written by bad programmers is going to end up a bit shoddy. Sony don't want their console associated with shoddy games. They'd prefer that only decent programmers create games for their system.

    Has an MMO ever had a proper, scritped beginning? Or a proper, scripted middle?

    What makes you think that devs would bother scripting an end?

    You make an interesting point in that it's free as in beer. However, isn't Java GPL'd nowadays?

    Has anyone created a JRE installer that you know, just installs the Java runtime without any of this Sun crap?

    Maybe it'd be a good project. After all, there are less intrusive versions of closed software like Quicktime and Real Player (in the form of Quicktime Alternative and RealAlternative).

    I never have problems removing components from Macs. I take great pleasure it taking a sledgehammer to them after they die 2 days after the warranty expires!

    I hate WiFi, I find it unreliable and worry about security.

    I'd like to hear about the reliability and security of these devices. I'd be worried that my neighbours would be able to listen in over their power lines.

    The other this is, it's pointless! Even with current versions of Firefox, if you type in [map 10 Downing Street] to the address bar, you'll get a map of 10 Downing Street.

    That's because words entered into the address bar tapes you to google's top result.

    Google is already pretty good at working out what you want. Why would I want Firefox to override this?

    Nuclear bombs don't kill people. People kill people. Why shouldn't this guy have a born right to bear nuclear arms? If he wants to defend his property from double-glazing salesman, he should have every right to make use of the second amendment and protect his property!

    I have no doubt in my mind that Belkin is not one of the few. I wouldn't be suprised at all if most major companies do this.

    It's just that Belkin did it in such a way that they were easily caught. Don't trust any reviews you see!

    By the way, my Netgear router is the best, you should buy one! :)

    I find it interesting that they checked out 4 for the Mac and only 2 for the PC.

    Does anyone else find it annoying that Mac users have a tendancy to use the term 'PC' as if it were a synonym for 'Windows'?

    I suspect they're using high-quality top-end TV cables that cost $1,000 a meter. If you're just using a standard TV cable, of course you're not going to see the high resolution of SDTV!
