Where has all the fear of the grey goo gone? Are nano particles now considered safe for use in consumer products and everything else?
I recall reading that there were/are some serious safety concerns with the effects of nano material on biological systems.
Did I miss some news reports?
Wasn't the appeal of 'broadband' advertised to be 'always on, high speed, and unlimited transfers'?
It sure seems like all you folks in North America are getting a seriousl wallet raping by the telcos/cablecos.
Here in Japan (and I'm sure it's the same in S. Korea), we don't have any such tranfer caps. Bandwidth is also a non-issue here with 50MB ADSL and 100MB (up and down) FTTH. Also, the pricing is quite reasonable and ususally comes bundled with VOIP services. Some providers even offer TV over IP (Softbank BB).
Japan and S.Korea are living the broadband pipedream that North America had dangled in front of it but never got (until GoogleNet shows up, seeing as they are buying all the remnants of that pipe dream - unused dark fiber).
I am suprised that no development house (or Nintendo themselves) has yet to start developing Skype for the DS (or have they?).
Handheld wi-fi device already in the hands of millions
+
application with an installed user base of million
=
Millions of happy people talking to each other over SkypeDS!!
....not to mention many more units of the DS sold!
/yes, we know that Nintendo already showed off a Skype-ish application with Wario on screen prior to the DS release. /yes, we know about DSspeak but alas it doesn't have the installed userbase of Skype.
Intel's marketing guys need a serious kick in the genitals. First they get smoked by AMD with http://www.leapsbeyond.com/ and now they are dropping the Pentium moniker. Why on earth they are killing their brand name recognition they have spent millions drilling into everyone's minds is beyond me.
They did not need a 'reinvention' from a marketing point of view but a reinvention of the actual product itself.
AMD is really making up for where intel is mis-stepping. They really are leaps beyond Intel IMO.
and they want us all to upgrade to HD and pay top $ in the process? I seriously don't see the point. Current DVD's are fine for me and I will be upgrading to neither HD-DVD nor BluRay. Sorry MIAA, Sony, Toshiba, Microsof et all.....my money is staying in MY pocket.
Slightly off topic and rather tinfoil hatted but with the way things are going in the White house are you going to trust putting the game 'America's Army' on your PC? Lord knows, what they have or may put into that game to spy on your PC.
I am left to wonder what effect Google Base and Fremont will have on the dating sites and Craiglist style classified sites on the web and those just starting up.
Will these services by the big boys simply kill the existing ones and prevent new ones from starting up? Or will they be non-competing platforms? Anyone care to take a stab at pondering this and share some thoughts?
we have the best health care system in the world, we have tonnes of green land, and are well respected by most of the World.
Heaven help you if you need to have an MRI scan because if you might have cancer. Then you have to run to the US to get help as Canada lacks the necessary hardware or skilled doctors. =(
What I'd like to see is the grand daddy of benchmark comparisons going from the present day Geforce 7800 series/Radeon X1800 all the way back to the Voodoo1.
Mostly I would like to know how my Radeon 9700 Pro stacks up against the current series and the Geforce 6x00 series. They stop at 9800XT =(
Please give this a read http://www.wired.com/news/medtech/0,1286,62923,00. html/ e +health+concern&btnG=Google+Search/
.
Or google it up here http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Nano+particl
Or was it just the standard 'greed overcomes human safety'?

I'll do you one better. I will teach you how to spell "favor". =)
Please remind me not to hire you! =)
Not quite sure what a "gameboy DS" is but it's great to hear about Opera DS! Can't wait to pick that up.

The AMD fanboy salute: http://www.leapsbeyond.com/
/apologies, obligatory
That's unpossible! How "rediculous". "Your" an idiot. Is that "you're" pencil? ...ugh.
Surely having your own "sun" can be interpreted as being a WMD. No? Go get 'em boys...ugh.
...AMD is already leaps beyond
/AMD fanboy.

1. Increase the frequency to "attract" young preteens. 2. Sell it to Michael Jackson. 3. ????? 4. Profit!!
