if you press home, it's all the way to the right....rss reader too.
haven't bought any UMDs both because there's not much selection and, i can't bring myself to spend more for a version of a movie that i can only play on it.....you can, however, transcode DVDs for it and copy them to a memory stick.
meh, i use my PSP chiefly for gaming, but i do browse the web and keep about a half gig of music on it as well for those "mp3 emergencies." sony certainly has some lessons to learn, but they're more in the "quite creating proprietary media then changing the format" arena.
very close, but i think actually, because they're famous and seen by millions of people the feel the have the responsibility to inform the public of "important issues." fine. my only problem is that they aren't always informed themselves.....

...Lucas explained that, in the Star Wars universe, traveling any distance through hyperspace requires careful navigation to avoid stars, planets, asteroids or any such obstacles. Since no long-distance journey can be made in a straight line, the "fastest" ship is the ship that can plot the most direct course through space, thereby traveling the least distance. This depends on the skill of the navigator and the sophistication of the ship's navigational computer.
thus cementing his status as a total jackass unable to admit a mistake.
there was something about it on the starwars site that i remember reading a while back, but that site's so crappy to navigate (ironically) that i'm not searching it out. more or less the same explanation, but i remember it having to do with avoiding imperial vessels.
would be nice. i think, however, there are some folks who used to live all over the US who thought the notion of "owning" the land was equally preposterous.
i was about to post the same thing. after episode 3 was released on DVD, that's how i watched them all. it's perfect because empire leaves you wanting some explanation as to how the hell vadar is luke's father and the new trilogy flows into jedi well....due to similar quality in those 4.
has become the overriding concern with me. i'm on my second phone with the 3 little contacts and they've already worn to the point that, right now, i have the charger pulled tight up the back of the phone and held in place with tape. that's the only way to charge it.
from now on, if it doesn't have a proper barrel charger, no dice.
most of the time, you're able to put the CD in, boot a pretty functional, albeit slow cause it's running from the CD, OS. if you're happy enough, double click the INSTALL icon and it guides you through 6 easy steps. upgrading is even easier.
wow that didn't take long....enter the "but you have to train them for the real world" arguments.
also, if you have the browser, OO is redundant.....we are arguing on the side of you can replace windows and office with anything roughly equivalent right?
How long has Google [fill in the blank] been in 'beta' now?
only slightly longer than people have been asking this same question on/.
how long does it take a slashdot user to realize that google stuff will always be in beta?
two words:

that game rocks so hard. it's unbelievable.

it's awesome. i love it.
it's the last thing i see before i go to bed and the first thing i see in the morning.

that's right. i'll take this opportunity to be the pompous jackass who points out "i don't have a TV," which makes me better.
How many 12 year olds do you know with cell phones?
lots.
though i agree with your points, lots of kids have them. mostly so they can call their folks after soccer practice.

taxed.
if you upgrade now, you get to expense it this year.

for PPC linux, the open ones are about all you get. and they're crap.
not because of any of this, mind you....just cause of the lack of decent PPC ATI drivers.

Oh, and in Konqueror you've got spell cheking (previous word is in RED) embedded. =o)
firefox too now. "firefox" is underlined with a dotted line....you'd think they'd include that in their dictionary
