Not to bash the game all out, as I remember before the first game came out I was so looking forward to it. Maybe I was caught up in the hype, or maybe it was just that I was looking for something new instead of something rehashed.
Then when I got the game (Both on the Saturn and PC) I was very disappointed. Thinking it might just be the versions, I tried the Playstation version and asside from minor visual and control issues the game just seriously failed to impress me.
A few dozen sequals later I was sick of the whole Tomb Raider thing. Now the movie is out and I've already got a bad taste left over from the first game.
I didn't need a review to tell me the movie sucked, but I'm glad a few negative reviews have saved me from giving in to curiosity.
The example you gave about the guys in the bar is not really a ZK proof, but it is associated with them because it is a cryptographic problem that uses similar protocols for a solution.
If one of the guys is wearing a Rolex he obviously can afford to pick up the tab. (heheheh) You still don't know how much he makes... but you know he's not starving!
And why does once owning 3 Amigas make you such a serious voice on this topic?
It doesn't make me more special than anybody, but it does show that I had a strong love for the Amiga. The fact that I ran a 10 line Amiga BBS with Cnet Amiga 3.05c out of my own pocket for nearly 10 years in a town where there was almost no Amiga support also shows that I cared.
I also wrote a lot of my own software, and indeed learned the vast majority of my programming skills on the Amiga. I don't think this makes me "more important", but it did put me into contact with a large number of Amiga lovers and I think I have a pretty good idea what most of them want.
Do you want new hardware, or do you NOT want new, unrelated hardware with the Amiga name slapped on it?

New hardware of course is a must, but I think most Amiga users would hate to see a run of the mill PC running Windows or some form of Unix with an Amiga name slapped on it just because a cruddy GUI is being shown as a software layer and being passed off as a next generation "Environment".
A totally new Amiga would be fine -- if it were a totally new AMIGA, not just a new machine altogether with an AMIGA name.
By Amiga, I mean the OS should be functionally AMIGA, the things that we (and you yourself apparently since you owned 5 Amigas in total...) fell in love with. Draggable screens. AutoConfig. Dynamic Ram Disks. An excellent and easy to develope for set of OS Libraries. A low OS footprint giving most of the resources to the APPLICATIONS (this is a concept seemingly lost now days).

I'm well aware... but somehow everytime Amiga Inc. mentions Amiga DE I get the impression they're trying to sell us on the concept that the Amiga brand doesn't need to be a stand alone platform, and I really get the overwhelming feeling that Amiga Inc. doesn't even really intend to try.
I fear they may be baiting us with the promise of future version of AmigaDOS just to drag us along long enough to hook us on this "OSless" concept.
Is it just me or does this little write up seem totally contradictory to what we last heard from Amiga?
I mean, first they are working on a hardware independent, OS independent "Environment" called DE, THEN they are reverting back to pushing forth development of AmigaDOS 4.0 as a whole stand alone system because as they said "That's what Amigans wanted". NOW they are showing us ugly little pictures of this Digital Environment that nobody wanted, as if they've forgotten the promises they've made.
Let me set one thing straight as a one time owner of 3 Amigas (1200/2000/4000)...
We don't WANT Amiga DE.
We don't WANT a new, unrelated hardware with the Amiga name slapped on it.
We WANT AmigaDOS 4.0 ported to modern hardware with a good mix of legacy software support and modern OS features.
If you don't WANT to give this to us, curl up and DIE already, it's long past overdue!

I've a very rapid typer. Quite fast, in fact. I've been typing since I was 9 years old, and around the age of 21, I started to feel sharp pains in the back of my shoulders, in my elbows, in my wrists, and sometimes even tingling in my finger tips.
I assumed forever that this sensation was carple tunnel syndrom, and that it would only get worse in time. In fact, it did get worse for a very long time until one day I moved my computer desk and bought a new chair.
Oddly enough, I didn't ever feel uncomfortable in my previous chair, and my new one never really felt any more or less comfortable. But the pains vanished none the less. I've been pain free now for about 5 years.
"Clans" or gangs were formed, protection, yadda yadda yadda.
Just the types of games have changed.
I can not count the number of fights I've seen over SPORTS.
I'm sure there is no evidence to support this claim, but I'd be willing to bet that Football causes more violence in today's society in a single year than Video Games have ever caused in 20.
The fact is -- Sports IS Violence and people love it. They love it so much, in fact, that a good chunk of the VIDEO GAME MARKET is based on the sports market.
They better not ban Video Games without first taking out the real culprit.
The Titans made Nashville traffic even worse. Video games never got me in a traffic jam.
Finally is it just me who is struck by the sheer outrageous obscenity and waste - all this money spent on throwing things at Mars when there are many problems on Earth that are far more pressing: AIDS, War, Famine, lack of gun control in our inner cities, etc etc etc.
I don't know what you do for a living, but I'm sure that someone finds it worthless no matter how you might defend your interest/stance on the issue.
The fact is, an astronomer isn't going to find the cure for AIDS and he/she isn't going to stop war, feed the hungry, or try and take away anybody's guns (besides, if someone tries to take away MY gun, they'll get shot.)
Just because YOU think that those minor issues take priority over space exploration/exploitation doesn't mean that the rest of the right-thinking world agrees with you.
Remember, at one time, people thought the search for the new world was a waste of resources.
Luckily for us Americans, someone decided to make that journey.
