    In my dorm here in Italy it's illegal (as for in Dorm rules) just to put a chair from the kitchen in your room.
    And anything like that would not have passed the montlhy control check.

    Land of the free, and all that...

    I'm going to start with the assumption that you already noticed he said Italy and just say... I don't get it. Can anyone enlighten me as to the funny?

    FWIW, my complaint is towards "somewhat strange". NJ has the highest population density of any state in the US. That's pretty much exactly the kind of state I'd expect to dominate this kind of list.

    Why don't they just funnel the emitted light back to the solar panels and thus make them independent of an external light source?

    This would be great for space colonies and sea-floor dwellings.

    Thermodynamics and all that. But you could probably sit a couple of these facing each other and recapture some of that light. Also, I'd expect space colonies to have relatively easy access to an external light source.

    Points, condenser, coil. That's it. Also my radio is a tube radio so likely somewhat resistant to EMP. I only drive vehicles '60s or older.

    Who would have guessed that the survivors of the apocalypse would be .... grandpa?

    Either an idea is obvious, or it isn't, it doesn't change in hindsight vs foresight.

    You said a lot that made sense until you got here.

    The most brilliant and elegant solutions to problems out there are often painfully obvious once they've been pointed out, but it still took that one creative thinker to realize it.

    he number of albums produced in French is declining precipitously from 718 releases in 2003, to 158 in 2011.

    I honestly find this absolutely fascinating. I mean, I get it, according to your link singing in English provides for a much broader market, and that completely makes sense, but that just seems so surreal. French musicians aren't singing in French...

    Well sure, they said any alcohol would do. But why does red wine work best?

    Clearly red wines are superior to white wines. But if we're talking about lowering resistance, you'd expect beer or wine coolers to be far more effective. Or jello shots. Did they even try jello shots?

    Actually no. I simply agree that Card would certainly qualify as a social conservative.

    Objections to his works can still certainly come from a conservative quarter. It's not like there's a monolithic one true conservative way of thinking, not to mention that there's room for misunderstanding.

    It's not perfect, but I felt the point would be clearer if I phrased as closely as possible to your words.

    Still, this is one district. I'll concede that it's very likely not the only district where this could happen, but there are plenty of others where complaints like this one are given the treatment they deserve. To me, the one encouraging facet to this story is that it's unusual enough to be newsworthy.
