  1. Re:Unless we spend more on education... on Medical Care Gets Outsourced Too · · Score: 0
America doesn't even have a universal healthcare system. You lag behind Australian and most of the countries in the European Union.
The reason for this is because we want the best healthcare system. People fly into the US (who can afford it) from all over the world precisely because it is not paid for by taxes.
Government buisnesses are not as efficient as private buisnesses, anyone who works for the government can vouch for that.
The problem now is that prices are going through the roof. The reason for this is often argued to be because of lawsuits which drive the doctor's insurance premiums through the roof. Doctors in the USA often turn patients down because for some reason that patient is "too risky" and they can't afford the insurance they would need to pay to work on that patient.

    2. Despite what you are determined to believe, while the memos may have proven to be fake, the 'real facts' did in fact get out and guess what, they support what's expressed in the memos. That's what made it possible to verify them. Everyone and their brother agreed that what's in them is true.
Ok, fine. Lets assume that the memos were factual, and there was no question.
I don't understandy why this documentary is such a big deal then. This is a documentary (it's factual) that calls into question John Kerry's behavior after/during the Vietnam war. 60 Minutes aired a documentary that called into question George Bush's behavior during the war. 60 Minutes was broadcast on FAR more stations then this will be.
Now if Dan Rather had put Fahrenheit 9/11 on TV and dressed it up as news, then you might have a point, but you seem to be hanging on to your simplistic views a little too tightly.
Dan Rather reported misconduct by Bush during the war. It could be called news, history, documentary, whatever you want. The behavior of John Kerry at the same time is now being reported by some other source (although maybe less "reputable" than Dan Rather).
This is not a sensationalistic documentary like Moores, this is going to be speeches given by Kerry, an account of where he was, and interviews with wives of POWs who say that their husbands were made to listen to Kerry as torture when they were in prison (to demoralize them, I guess).
To complain about this but not Dan Rather's 60 Minutes is a double standard.

I wouldn't really care that much. In California (at least, I don't know about other states) they already have this, but using a different technology. The magnetic strip on the back of the card has all your information that can be read when cops "swipe" the card.

And yes, somebody does know what is going on; and that is again Rackspace, as is clearly said in the article.
And they are not presuming anyone guilty, but it is common practice to investigate crimes that you may charge people with before you charge them, to have evidence. Often, this requires a warrant. A warrant is neither a statement of guilt, nor even a criminal charge for that matter.

Anyone who thinks that we are today living in the world of 1984 is dillusional. Micheal Moore can put out a movie tearing into the President, and Rush Limbaugh can tear into powerful govenment officials on his show, and its ok.
The reason to stop things like this act now would be to prevent a slippery slope that could lead to a 1984-like world. But we are nowhere near that right now.
There are way to many people that talk as if they are in fear of being hunted down by Ashcroft and thrown into a dungeon in Washington. I guess its fun to fantasize that you are Patrick Henry or something, but get real.
We have historically unprecedented freedoms in America (even with the PATRIOT act now). Striking down this act would simply ensure that (PATRIOT act ^ 10) is not legislated so we still have these rights in 50 years.

Since bluffing is meant to fool human heuristics that judge the strenght of other players' hands based on those players' bets, why would a bot that works on probabilities NEED to consider bluffs?
The reason that a bot would need to consider bluffs is because the bot would need to consider other people's bets.
Consider the following case in Hold 'em:
You are up against only one other player and are in last position. The river has come out and there is a queen (from the flop), a jack, and then 3 low garbage cards. You have Ace-Jack. If that player checks to you, and has checked the previous bets, you will probably bet that even though you only have second pair. If he bets high, and has been betting the whole time, you may want to REALLY think before calling, and especially before raising.
This is an example of how BETS come into consideration.
And of course a good bot, like a good player, would not be able to just take all bets at face value.
