First, it needs to be determined if he was defamed. Maybe the accusations are true. Maybe the standards of the person who posted are higher than his store's standards. Maybe he is mad because he is being called out on something that he does not want to admit. Or maybe he does have a case and his is a clean and proper store. That is the first thing that needs to be determined. After that, if there is a case at that point, then talk about revealing who it is.
I have worked in the food industry. I have seen what some places will let pass and it is disgusting. There are several restaurants in the local area that I tell people to avoid due to the sanitation and quality issues.
I don't know whether or not the owner has done this, but the proper response of the owner would have been to contact the person via the board (if possible) and discover what the experience of that person was. We call this customer relations/service. A law suit like this is likely to only harm the reputation of the store owner. It will cause people who visit the store to focus even more on the same issues the *anonymous* party is focusing on.
Ever been in LA? I dare you to ride a bike in some places. Between traffic, laws, road design, fences, retaining walls, canals (waterways), and other things, it is not only dangerous but sometimes illegal or impossible to not use a car. Yes, I used to live out there.
I haven't seen gas prices at 4 dollars a gallon since July.
Don't worry, you will see those prices and more again. The people who control the oil want your money for their use. So, the price of oil will once again far exceed its actual value.
Before anyone starts arguing about the value of oil, stop and ponder how the price of oil rose so rapidly and fell so rapidly. Supply and demand can be imaginary and artificial. Prices are based on perceptions more than realities - anyone in marketing and sales knows this already. Prices can also be manipulated without a collusive force involved. Just like the.com and the housing markets so went oil.
You mean Microsoft gave the computer companies a choice? I thought they were no longer allowed to install XP (even though the computer companies were kicking and screaming all the way out). What other desktop OS from Microsoft are they allowed to install?
and I think all Americans agree that they are urgent problems
While, many, if not most (certainly not all) Americans would agree, the trick is not agreeing on what the problems are, but in what each person is going to give up to provide the funds to solve these issues (especially the debt). Most people are not nearly as hot and bothered to fix these issues once it comes down to how will you contribute today (money). They are too used to receiving without any consideration for the real cost, or when the bill will come due. That is one reason why the current economy is catching so many off guard and sinking so fast. They never wanted to understand what debt does or how a debt based economy works. Those who understood AND prepared have a gold mine of cheap bargain deals in front of them.
I was going to say he would be bad because of his ethical positions, law breaking, and other problematic behaviors, but then I remembered, this is the White House.
I think it should be Al Gore, since he invented the internet. LOL
As much as this demonstrates the poster's ignorance on the subject (or great sense of humor), Al Gore would actually make a great choice. He has demonstrated his ability to work in a political environment, a strong understanding of technology, a firm grasp of current issues and a strong sense of "do the right thing". Though not perfect (nobody is), he has demonstrated many qualities we would like and many qualities that would be required by Washington for the position. And he showers, shaves and dresses well.
Except that it is really hard to corrupt a paper ballot before the election. Faster vote tallying also means faster vote tampering. I don't know why you think fast processing means safe. Paper voting isn't perfectly secure. It is just that almost all tampering will leave evidence. That isn't true at all for pure electronic voting
Bravo, my sentiments exactly!
Paper is hard to corrupt before the election, yet, it has been done. I think the real problem is that we the people care to little about the security of our nation's governance and more about what is on TV tonight. Secure and unspoiled elections start with lots of nosy people poking into every aspect of the election. When a company in Texas can remove voters who legally ought to be allowed to vote, or dead people can be registered to vote, the process still leaves much to be desired. I would prefer we focused our energies on fixing these issues first, not modernizing to a new set of issues we already know are not workable in so many other similar uses.
but reliance on continuing credit is already a sign of financial troubles whatever the share price might be.
Most companies rely on short term credit to help drive day to day operations (credit cards, purchase orders, work on contract are just a few examples). Most companies also rely on credit for mid and long term expenses. These allow companies to leverage their cash/value to get greater *work* from their financial assets. This allows for faster turn around on products, services, etc and for greater profits and growth. The trick for most companies is where is the sweet spot that provides faster growth and better profit without risking the company in a downturn.
So, a drop in the valuation of a company's stock would devalue most companies as most companies (with stock) hold a decent percentage of their own stock (an asset). It can also seriously impact the credit lines of the company, interfering with daily operations, the ability to purchase supplies and raw materials as well as pay employees. Most companies are not like Microsoft (merely an example of a company with huge cash reserves) with a huge savings, so they need to keep the cash they have as cash. Interfering with this of course will cause problems for the company and result in devaluation of the company if only temporarily as it deals with these issues.
Cash flow is so extremely important to a company that any interference with it normally has serious impact on the ability of the company to conduct business and remain solvent.
I do not necessarily agree with this heavy reliance on debt, but that is what makes our economic world turn, as some people might have noted from the recent credit crunch fall out and its affect on business, orders, consumerism, etc.
Oh, come on! You expect many people to know (let alone believe) that the original did not have the words under god in it? And that it was written by a baptist minister)? You expect too much from the average person! But, they ought to know it anyway.;-)
The problem with Iraq is that the war was/is based on lies. Lies about WMD, about ties to Al Quaeda, lies about oil and more. The problem is Bush lied to the people and has used those lies to line the pockets of corporate friends at the expense of the American public's financial well being and the Iraqi people's lives and well being. Maybe Iraq will become a better country in the future, but this mess has been about as poorly handled as it could have been at the executive level.
I believe (but can not know) that Gore would have focused on the real issue in Afghanistan. I believe Gore would have focused on reducing national debt, not increasing it. I believe we would mostly be better off if Gore had been elected. All except Gore and many of the wealthiest Americans.
3. They were almost all afraid of voting against it, no matter what it really meant. They were afraid to be seen by the American Public (an assumption on there part) as weak on our enemies (them terrorists) or not standing behind the people who were murdered on 9/11.
Trying to cover up something like "life on mars" is futile and foolish.
Fancy that... The government to hide something. Not like any agent of the government, elected or not, has ever tried to do anything like that. Land mines in Central America (Iran Contra affair), Weapons for hostages (Iran hostage crisis), The The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, or the Lies of the Century (this site will tick some people off!). There are so many examples of people in government doing exactly what you are arguing they would not do for whatever reason. They do not care what the future has in store. They are only focused on getting through their fears of today. People do very funny (and bad) things when they are cornered by their fears or believe they are being cornered by things that they are afraid of.
Thats funny, I did not catch that double meaning. It was a production environment. Document production, and I was one of the developers who wrote software to keep it going along. So, I developed in a production environment.
After working in a production environment as a developer, I can assure you that the correct interpretation is "Anybody else noticed that these major problems always occur when no one is around to catch them (before they get out of hand)?"
Its the new low fat reality.
