I thought it was funny the MPAA still continues to only blame the end distribution for these problems, i.e. the p2p systems where it can take days to get these files. Forget the fact that someone on the inside ripped it 2 days prior to release, forget the fact that the only reason its on bit torrent or any P2P network is that it was on the newsgroups first.

Its funny... the fact that the newsgroups never make it on the news.

String Theory was unknown to me until I saw the awesome Nova special on it..

from the article : String theorists attempt to explain all the fundamental particles as vibrations on tiny strings on length scales of about 10-33 metres. The theory naturally includes "supersymmetry" - a symmetry that connects particles with integer spin, known as bosons, to particles with half-integer spin, which are known as fermions. The particles that carry the fundamental forces of nature, such as the photon and the gluon, are bosons, while the quarks and leptons that make up matter are fermions. Although superstring theory is the leading candidate for a theory of everything, there is no experimental evidence to date for strings or supersymmetry.

This would explain your question, becase even though HDTV has been around for awhile, it is still not very popular. When I installed cable last year, I was doing maybe 1 HDTV install/upgrade a week, compared to almost 7 or 8 DVR/PVR upgrades/installs a week.

I think HDTV is a bit more complicated than most people are aware.

That must have been some easy spam to stop because in the real world, its more complex. Random generators changing subjects, spoofing random senders addresses, and changing content.

How can it stop the spam from getting to inboxes when it HAS TO GET TO AN INBOX TO EVEN BE MARKED AS SPAM!!! Lets say SPAM A hits server B at 11:00pm. Server then relay's it to block of address's, and spam reaches users by 11:02

User checks mail at 11:05 and is queried by social filter and indicates message is spam.

by this time, the spam is already in as many inboxes as the server was responsible for, and in about 5 minutes SPAM A will come back with a funny mustache and thick glasses disguised as SPAM B, and circumvent the whole process, unless the filters can ignore the slight changes and random content....

I'll beleive this thing works when they try it out on some REAL spam, not that store bought stuff.
