    So far, the Sprint/AWS merger has only involved changing half a billion logos on web pages. I wouldn't consider branding to be a bloodbath. Nextel also caters to kids and teens, but the do so under the Boost brand. It's a pre-paid only service.

    The "Gimp" can't do CMYK color, which makes it worthless for pre-press work, and even more worthless for printed photo work. My guess is that you work in a web content shop, where RGB is suitable?

    emember how horrible the swap is in Windows (including XP). It really kills the resposivness

    Windows XP does not have a "swap" file. It has a page file. There is a difference.

    The answer is simple

    The execution of the answer is not so simple

    It is good practice to establish a profile of the applications that you run (memory wise) and to then purchase adequet RAM to suit that application profile. Basically, figure out how much RAM you "normally" use, and then buy it (plus a bit extra). DB server profiles are as different from web server profiles as office profiles are from gaming profiles. Without the context the particular profile, blanket statements regarding memory and swap tuning are meaningless.

    Yes, you simply have to de-select the DRM features when ripping/encoding your DVD's. Or did you want to remove DRM from other peoples media?

    Sorry to play devils advocate there

    The main argument sould be that it is not free software, not open source, and not based on a free /open standard. Not, "can I remove DRM?".
