    My guess is that he didn't set a hard drive setting in the BIOS to LBA instead of Auto. He didn't say what the error was, but it's probably Grub error 17.

    You fill in the circle and feed it into the machine.

    The only problem I can think of is if you don't fill in the circle completely (or if you can't stay within the lines) and the machine doesn't count your vote.

    I was surprised (pleasantly) to see a segment on our news in Ottawa, Canada about it.

    They mentioned that the machines would avoid the hanging chads, and then went on to list every possible negative issue.

    You and 65% of America. But really, we have better methods for that. Like versioning systems. Developers used them for years, and a file system should support them natively.

    Well... the rate of spam would be drastically reduced since the zombies would have to spend lots of computational time calculating hashcash, or the spam is shunted immediately to the disposal section.

    It isn't talking about money at all -- only computation. The only extra money you would spend is on your electric bill since your CPU load will be higher. Besides, you wouldn't need to stamp since you're on their whitelist. ;)
