Don't equate speech with action. They are very distinct things. No matter how provacative the speech, you have the choice to act or not. Otherwise free will does not exist. And if we don't have a free will, then we shouldn't be allowed to punish people for what they do. They would have no choice.
It would make a lot more sense for Pakistan to try to shoot it down somehow than for the US to do so.
Or it could be the satellite launching industry's equivelence of hijacking a truckload of cigarettes while offering a more "reliable and secure" service. Damn, Good Fellas is moving into space.
I'm amazed that Congress doesn't want to tap into it rather than try banning it.
They are "tapping"(that booty) into it. But the proper term is skimming. And it's off the books. Why would they want to change that? The real money is in contraband. Drugs, hookers, immigrants(the "illegal" variety), weapons, you name it. Prohibition is a great profit generator.
(Score:0, Troll) Evidently these same voters got mod points...To those who complain about these politicians, it looks like you'll get more of the same. I can tell you that your complaints are misdirected. You won't get rid of them until you, GASP!, vote them out. And if that's not going to be the case, you may as well learn to live with 'em, and quicherbellyachin'.
1) Hell, I don't know. I forgot my password. Go ask the government. They have more storage space than I got anyway. While I'm thinking of it, I believe I'll have them back up my hard drive as well...if they haven't already.
Really. And who needs it? Whatever you missed is bound to be repeated pretty quickly and frequently. I don't even keep music around anymore, too much junk to lug around, the radio provides sufficient noise to keep me distracted. And when you only have one station, you find that you'll dance to just about anything. And once I get the direct brain implants, the computer's going straight to the trash heap.
This has happened before, let history be your guide.
The most relevent thing about history is that it repeats itself every one or two generations, and, by all appearances, it will continue to do so for many more.
Only in the event I don't allow them access am I in violation of the law.
That has to be a two way street. If they can deny me access, then I will defend my right to deny them. If they want me to open up, then they have to also. If I can't keep secrets, then they can't either. If they want to take my gun, then I want them to surrender theirs. The same laws must apply to all, equally, no matter who they are, no matter what they do.
...making it harder for officials to conduct lawful investigations just helps criminals.
Define criminal. Whatever 51% of the populace say it is? Making the other 49% criminals? So...with a warrant, should we be alllowed to force people to give up anything to the authorities, through torture if necessary? If we have nothing to hide, we have nothing to fear, right? You're standing on thin ice there.

But Mr. Fuller came up with a pretty good answer over 30 years ago. His timing might be a bit off, but the basic premise is sound. And if you want to make a serious attempt to find a solution, you need to go much deeper into the real basics. Ignore his advice and you will pay the price.
Sorry, this is the best I could find. I'm just not that good with this Google thing. I was looking for a picture, but FTL: Rising fuel prices during the 1970s prompted the development of a new technology that used sails shaped like aircraft wings turned on end to take some of the burden off the engines and save fuel. Slightly curved to form a wing shape, these sails were attached to a mast that could pivot and locate the best angle for the sail to catch the wind. Once the computers set the mast at the best angle to the wind, the sail created the same "lifting" force that an airplane's wing generates, except that the force pushed the ship along the water. However, this system did not always prove to be efficient for extremely large vessels. I thought what I saw was that the mast itself was a rigid aerodynamic sail.
to ask this question? Spelling won't be simplified enough until we eliminate all written languages. If a picture says a thousand words, then we should all learn to draw, not spell. But then again, text takes up much less disk space, at least until we invent better compression techniques.
Obviously there needs to be a better system, but what kind of system would work?
One that doesn't tolerate terrorism from either side. We are very selective in the terrorists that we disparage. And quite hypocritical about it also. Remember, terrorists that work on "our" side are called "freedom fighters".
that anybody would consider this newsworthy or a surprise. Everything single thing we do, everything that motivates us, our most basic instincts, revolves around sex. We exist to reproduce. I wish I could remember where I saw this, (paraphrasing, obviously) "the four states of all living things: fight, eat, fuck, sleep." It applies to humans as much as any other animal.

Idiots? You're talking about the people that vote for them, right?
I believe "gone wrong" is code for "got caught".
Oh, come on! Freedom of speech went out with knickers and plaid.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you had to wear cinder blocks for shoes, and it was uphill both ways, right?
I know this attitude sounds defeatist, but anyone who is disdainful of this remark is welcome to study the problem and come up with a solution.
Build a faraday cage around the building?

It was the cops radar gun, you'd have to question him, he said 70...
:-)
It was obviously a tree he clocked
Last year I had an interesting experience with my German professor regarding gender.
Dr. Freud I presume? By itself, I find your statement veeeery interesting.
It's called SCHOOL.
In the US, we say "escuela".

I always thought they were called US Military Personel.
There's no need to single them out. All military is terrorist.
