Where can I find one of those? "Reasonable"? Mortally wounded in '63, and died from its injuries in the year 2000. Shot the corpse 20 more times to make sure it was dead in '01. Still appears to be quite deceased. It's not just pinin'.
Drag the country down to third world status, and the immigrants will quit jumping the fence. That's what you want, right? Because that's what you'll get. Pretty soon you won't be able to drink clean water from the tap because the patent/copyright holder will want exorbitant fees/royalties. I guess you could call that "leveling the playing field". How pitiful. Doesn't look like we'll have to wait 500 years to get those Big Ass Fries. Mmmm...Now I'm hungry.
It's a great way to put an end to the upgrade madness that forces many to use bootleg software to keep up. I use Corel 10, and so I need to tell people to save their files in the older version also because I just won't spend the money. I sure hope this idea really spreads. It should be pretty obvious that the reason for the incompatibilities is an attempt to force us to upgrade. Spread the word. Use generic or open formats. Then let's watch the software makers squirm a little. They can burn in hell.
He still deserved to have his country leveled in either case.
Yes all those those people who lived under a man that was propped up by US/UK commercial interests for the last 30 years deserved to die when he became no longer useful. That should teach the next dictator put into place by the same interests a big lesson.
If the government has no trouble throwing billions at Israel, they can do the same for the Indians. What's fair is fair, right? As far as the RF thing, I also claim the right right to intercept and do whatever I wish to any signal that passes through me, and the right to seek damages from those who contaminate the air I breath and the water I drink. It's perfectly legitimate self defense. These things aren't anybody's property and should not be treated as such.
I find it sickening that protection against self-incrimination is considered a privilege. I need to devise a weapon to use to enforce my right to that protection. Or better yet, find a way to neutralize those weapons used to take it away.
Well, I still have a pretty high regard for the bill of rights. If anything they need to be strengthened. And any document recognizing the rights of the individual should be cherished. The problem now is the loose interpretation by the judges that rule on such matters, giving the government far too much leeway.
Someone states, "Indian nations are a farcical anachronism..."
I state, ALL nations are a farcical anachronism...
I have the same regard to all nations that this person has for Indian nations. Every group, every person is entitled the same level of sovereignty as the next. What's so hard to understand? To me, the legalities of whether or not Indian nations are nations is frivolous. By logic their nations are just as valid as any other. The law is illogical. But we can't let that stand in the way of business. *The railroad's comin' through. Out of the way, Injun!* That's what the law says. And who are they going to sue? The feds? Uh, uh, they're off limits. They are a defeated nation.
Silly legalities not withstanding(aside from the weaponry used to enforce it), I'm saying the concept is just absurd for any other "nation" as it is for the Indians. It is illogical to say one group can do it and not another. Only through irrational law do we have this. And these laws exist to protect the import/export merchants. Any widespread public benefit is quite secondary and not really required, as demonstrated very openly in most places. Our common welfare is not why these people put up the fences between us. Don't think for a second it's for your protection. It's for your containment, and their profit.

What they'd do is cross-license with each other, and form a cartel to squeeze the rest of us.
Now wait a minute. Are you saying we don't have exactly that already?
Where's the "off" switch? I freeze if it's below 80.

Now, if we could only figure out some way for the oil companies to reap massive profits from such a scheme...
Block the sun

And cut the baby in half for them to share. Let's see who's willing to give it up.
I'm STILL waiting for your address
Not tonight, baby. I got a splitting headache...er...I'm washing my hair...Yeah, that's it.
Cawl me tomorrow
I don't buy that we are somehow less intelligent or wise than the founding fathers.
Looking at the guy you put into the white house should eliminate all doubt.
The MPA says that in 2005, piracy cost U.S. studios $6.1-billion (U.S.). In Canada, the CMPDA estimates its members lost $118-million the same year.
I feel your pain. I believe the only thing left to tell these people is "Piss off!"
Isn't that what they're expecting us to do?
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world
I would like to buy an "e" please.
You don't think they'll start messing with this clock, do you? That graph looks like we're too late...or too early?
Yes, and notice how I modified the time stamp AND the comment number to make appear the parent is the first post.
Subject says it all. We give the damn things way too much power. Beware of the ATM!
Simple! Just cut the disk open and count the rings.
I'll think about it.
