ALL nations are a farcical anachronism who have greatly outlived their usefulness. We should stop recognizing the US and Canada, and all the others. You're right. It's time to move out of the stone age, and quit marking our territory like dogs. On the other hand, to consider Indian nations any less worthy of the status than a "regular" nation is extremely bigoted. Just sayin'...
Are you ready to claim sovereign rights to your land?
If they do, they should get ready to see a great big wall built around it, with a customs office at the end of the driveway. Solution? Make everybody a diplomat.
Apparently we do seem to cut them some slack. For instance, it's much easier to score a bag of rock cocaine on any given street corner than it is to get a half gallon of milk at 3 in the morning. In fact the only really "free" market that exists is that of controlled substances. And customer service is great, always open, home delivery, true free market prices(on a local scale anyway) There's something twisted about that. John Gotti for President!
They had to save space for some guy named "McCain" something or other. It was like seeing an unfunny Max Headroom. Nothing is safe until true distributed networks come around.
To even give him a second thought is ludicrous and a complete waste of time, and really quite a shame. It's more than obvious it will be business as usual. And his non-answer on copyright was exactly that. Nice cop out! As if I should expect any different from him. My translation on that and immigration, We must reform the institution of slavery, at the same time respecting the owners' property rights. I'm for allowing slaves to become citizens, but not the runaways. They must follow procedure. We can't just let them cut in front of the line of those who have. Note that we have moved the plantations outside the borders. That's the only difference between then and now. Slavery is alive and well. On the republican side, Ron Paul is all there is, but he doesn't get my vote either for the same reason.
Well, this sums it up nicely. But even the whining helps to bring in fresh blood if they play it right. Whether it works or not, it did make the front page. Hitz is hitz. I didn't check, but I'll bet Google could add it up for you. And time will tell if it paid off. If it doesn't, the guy can fold, rename, and start over. And he might be able to write off the losses.
Everyone's 'always on' now so dynamic IP is pointless.
I got a system that's always on, but the IP does change everyday. Don't know why while it's on. At home I shut down when out of the house(don't like leaving the door open), so there it always changes.
If more ISPs provided this, would it make traffic unbearable? How many dynamic domain name servers could we tolerate? Could we finally make the registrar problem go away?
The whole domain name service thing has become too corrupted by business. It's time to find another way. The only thing I can think of for now is to keep a personal hosts file. A real kludge, but if the business gets out of hand, I don't see a choice. I've already started as an attempt to reduce redirects by my ISP. It's hit 'n miss(mostly miss), but practice makes perfect. My aim is to make ICANN and GoDaddy, etc. irrelevant. Besides, what difference does it make if you stay with a defunct company or the live one blocks your site? The people that got switched over may be better off for now, but I would advise they look for an alternative as time goes by. Obviously, under the present circumstances, nobody can be trusted.
Buy a giant ad company, then this? What are they going to do? Poke some holes into it to let their stuff through? I guess I need to make my own crawlers if I want an effective search engine now. The big ones are becoming ever more useless. Can anybody tell me what a toolbar does that a bookmark can't? Besides look all purdy an' stuff? Put enough of them in there, and the web page only has enough space to show one line of text. It's like ESPN with all those stats on the screen completely blocking the action.

Why don't we legalize the mafia?

I don't know why slashdot hasn't picked it up

My friends and I use good ol' ftp.

I'm still waiting for your address...
Maybe tomorrow...

Would this convince you to sign up for the game?
Personally, no. Solitaire is as fast as it gets for me. But a new name just caught my eye. Plus I get to read a soap opera.
Probably lounging at his Black Sea beach pad.

as bad press. Somebody's looking for attention?
Maybe ol' Wilhelm wasn't so far off base after all.

A win-win-win deal, more or less.
Maybe for GoDaddy and Registerfly. Certainly not for the customers

For all we know, life could be able to live at thousands of degrees hot. You just don't know.
Yes I do.

Took you fifteen seconds? I'll type faster next time. With both hands.
First I'll put a bit over here
Then I'll put a bit over there
Watchin' all those bits go in
Then watch 'em do that I/O again
I'm sittin' at my desk all day
Watching the bits toil away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' at my desk all day
Wastin' time
Heck, one could go on for hours...
Let's make it easy then. Which ones should we keep?
Same as weed. Just don't get caught.
It's DANGEROUS!
Not nearly as dangerous as gasoline...
