If so, then Congress has no authority, and the President has no obligation.
The president must obey until the courts rule otherwise. We granted congress the authority to make law, the president is to enforce them, the courts shall decide their validity, not the president as he does with the signing statements. If he doesn't like a law that he SIGNS, then he must ask the courts to nullify the law before he can disregard it. I don't care if it's legal for him to do what he is doing here, it is wrong, and we shouldn't allow it under any circumstances. All this the loose interpretation of written law makes your obsession over it even more amusing. Shall we go into your self contradictory nature on that? Let's face it, you're in love with this guy for some reason that might not be appropriate to discuss here. There is no logical reason to support him unless there is some perceived personal gain.
First, I am not "merely" comparing him to other Presidents...
>>..."in this regard he has done so as well as any President." emphasis mine
Sure, man, whatever...I guess that word only shows up on my screen. Cool trick!
My, you're so cute when you're self-righteously indignant!
Why...thank you! Wanna go do the nasty on the white house lawn? It'll cost ya dinner and a movie.
They are executive orders negating his obligation to enforce the law as passed by Congress. You have made yourself perfectly clear in your journal that you're okay with it. So your banal dismissals of the complaints raised against his widespread use of the practice is easy to understand, but still distasteful.
...and in this regard he has done so as well as any President.
You're merely comparing him to other presidents. That would put him on a curve. And not a very good one if all you count are the people after Kennedy. Of course he's not going to look so bad when you compare him to Johnson, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton and his daddy. So your denial is a lie. That would make you a liar. How do you like them apples?
As it is, impeachment at this time is little more than an excersise in mental masturbation, something you're very good at with all your piddly little legalities you use to justify any and all abuses, with little usuful purpose. I'm all for nailing the whole bunch after January, 2009 on criminal charges. We can do like he did and just make something up, like "unlawful incredibly stupid or arrogant with blatant disregard for human life", and throw in neglecent homicide because that could actually stick. I'm sure his list of presidential pardons will be very interesting this time around.
The President is charged with enforcing the law as passed by Congress...
Signing statements not withstanding, of course. Even when grading him on a curve as you do, he comes up pretty poor. Lucky for him, the "opposition" is nothing but a bunch of spineless wankers who are even less desirable. And everybody's happy as long as either side brings home lots of pork.
ZFS cannot be added to the linux kernel due to licensing issues...
Aaah, leave it to licansing to force another kludge upon us. I can only dream how clean the code could be, and how fast the machine can go, if not for having to "license" around everything.
It's becoming extremely dangerous for the politicians' re-election campaingns. There's a grave danger of the truth being exposed. If they convince the public it's dangerous and can't be trusted without going through a government filtering system, they can mitigate this "truth" problem. The propaganda machine is going to work doubletime for this to work and unfortunately it probably will. This is election season, and censorship is very important. Need any more convincing that Obama and Hillary are whack? They said it passed unanimously. I guess that would include who I though was the last sane holdout against such nonsense, Mr. Feingold. Please vote all these people out of office.* THEY are dangerous!
*should be as successful as boycotting the movie industry...
Let's make it much simpler. "Governments" are the pirates that go out to far off lands to steal their treasure. The "corporations" are the merchants(fences) that sell the booty the pirates bring back to port. Any port being "home". It is in both interests there is no competition. So the "government" cages people in with borders and tarrifs to protect the merchants' business. Plain old regular back scratching. As natural as two chimps picking the mites out of their hair.

More money in licensing, and the penalties are better for the prison industry with a minimum of seven years. Our system would drool over those kinds of numbers.
Why do you _expect_ a company to do business according to your own rules?
It's called bargaining, or haggling. Very common practice in almost all business transactions. There's nothing wrong with it at all. The hardware market is very closed and full of collusion, just like the pharmaceuticals. Without a suitable alternative the pressure must be put on these people to respond to market forces. That's pretty difficult to do when they control the market. And it's the buyer that's supposed to control the market, not the merchant. Real competition would bring both nVidia and ATI around real quick, and you would see completely open drivers. But there is none, so I'm for whatever it takes to force their hand. The buyers must assert their authority and not allow the vendor to dictate conditions.
Remember when they used to supply a "sealer" to spread over the old black and whites? Then they put it in a pouch on the paper to be squeezed out as you pulled it out of the camera. Might work?
As long as they lay they paperwork on the service providers and not me, I don't care. So the price goes up. Then so do mine to compensate. Let the politicians keep on stealing like this and soon you get hyperinflation, along with loss of business. So let them have their tax, but make sure to demand a raise.
Maybe ignoring them totally is a lesson they will learn from.
Veryinterestingconcept. Should work great. Just right after the next Star Wars trilogy. Yeah, right after that, and another X-Men flick. Yeah, then we'll start ignoring them, just right after those, and the next Lord of the Rings...

...which ultimately meant goals were missed.
Well, if reaching the ground was a goal, I could say they hit that one dead on.
