You missed the GGP which happened to be mine. If you were wanting to walk into an elementary school with the intent of shooting as many children as possible, a weapon like the Thompson submachine gun or an HK MP5 or an Uzi or any number of FULLY AUTOMATIC firearms would be an ideal weapon. The reason those mass shootings are done with AR15s and other semi-automatic firearms is because the FULLY AUTOMATIC ones are not available. They are difficult for people to get their hands on because we the people decided to heavily control their availability.
How many crimes were perpetrated with fully automatic machine guns? How many school killings were committed with one? How many people in the USA died at the wrong end of a fully automatic assault rifle?
Clearly, having a full auto rifle would help the sick person achieve his goals more efficiently.
I'll tell you why there are so few deaths from fully automatic assault rifles: gun control works.
If you're looking for lightweight on Windows, check out xmplay. It's sitting at 334.4k. Sounds good, supports a lot of formats, has plugins, skinnable, integrates into your context menu if you want...
Not affiliated with them but I've used their program happily for years now.
Until we're prevented from voting for the candidate of our choosing, we can only look at ourselves to blame. Well, and those around us...
That's why "fixing Washington" shouldn't be at the top of the to-do list. Fixing ourselves should be. Start with education, fixing poverty, income disparity, and somehow break the media's stranglehold on keeping us befuddled. Then the problems in Washington will probably fix themselves.
Discussing art on Slashdot is like discussing cross-stitching on a drag racing forum. Like discussing particle physics on a doll collecting forum. Like discussing baseball stats on a recipe trading forum.
Nothing like getting a bunch of borderline Autism Spectrum Disorder technology nerds to argue about exactly what makes art the most useless endeavor in the world.
Can we not contribute to the confusion between climate and weather, please? I mean, we're mostly technically literate people here and can appreciate the need to stick to agreed-upon definitions of words, right?
The Spokane area is all aflutter with some "megaload" controversy about shipping some water treatment equipment to a mine in Canada over some "scenic" roads.
Driving this stuff over mountain roads is apparently the only method of getting equipment of this size to the location where it's needed. I realize this is bigger than the airship is capable of lifting but I'd bet there are plenty of other situations where this would be a good option.
But it's better than Obama saying he's going to double the enforcement of marijuana laws, right? Or do you want the laws enforced? I get confused. It's so hard to understand people when they're more interested in tearing the man down than any discussion.
The President just said he's not going to enforce federal pot laws in states that want to legalize it. I think that's kind of a big fucking deal. If you're pro-legalization, this should be a big fucking deal. The President himself just legitimized your position that has been marginalized for DECADES.
It's the EPA's fault that some random people decided to do whatever they wanted without considering the rules and regulations that might be applicable?
What's next, getting outraged that restaurants are being fined for health violations?
The 10 cent deposit in Michigan factored into college party etiquette. If you were going to a party and brought your own beer, it was considered polite to leave your empties with the host. If the hosts were able to wake from their hangover the next day, they'd return the empties and have enough for breakfast.
Oh for God's sake. The NSA has compromised everything. Google is no exception. Google is actually doing more than any other company to fight the gag orders and expose the extent of the monitoring. If you're concerned about privacy , do you stick with any number of companies that are compromised or do you stick with one company that is compromised but shows an extreme dislike of it? And not only that, Google is a company that has clout and resources.
I'm not trying to advocate for Google here, I just don't see too many other companies so publicly pissed off at what they're being forced to do.

Fully automatic. Think Tommy gun.
The reason so few crimes are committed with them is because we have regulated them out of common use. It is very difficult to buy one.

I have no idea what half of you are talking about. This is a simple RMA thing.
You order 2x4GB of RAM and they send you 2x8GB of RAM, what do you do?
These guys didn't get a product out of the blue, their order was filled incorrectly.

Newborns just got squeezed through a hole they shouldn't be able to fit through. They are a lot less fragile than I am.
Every new parent has paranoia about their child. Paranoia can be profitable.
I still trust them a hell of a lot more than I do the other big players in technology.
In order to prevent people from feeling the economic pain of Obamacare it is necessary to inflict economic pain.
I loved his stuff as an ass-kicking young man but as I grew older I lost interest.
But his written work hasn't impacted me nearly as much as the hours spent playing Rogue Spear.
Yes, we read the Wall Street Journal and watch Fox News.
Any other questions?
I'm not sure why you feel the need to be polite at this point.
I wish I had mod points. So very true.

I loved that Best Buy commercial where their employee recommends the Surface for car enthusiasts.
"It's great! It has a USB port, One Note for taking notes, and Excel for tracking everything!"
Really? Excel is one of your top three selling points to consumers?
You are a genius. I thought I should tell you that.
That's too bad. It was very entertaining to watch Mr. Carreon find new and innovative ways to dig his hole deeper and deeper.
I hope they reap the benefits of all the hard work they've been putting into pushing phone technology forward.

Words have meaning.

Little robots lurching and stumbling around at random does not impress me as a future smart-car building block.

At least that what a friend tells me.
