    Sure its got an AGP slot, but can you drop any AGP card into it? Nope, you need a special version that costs 50+% more (comparing prices for the ATi 9800Pro). Same for many sound cards (back from the G4 era, not sure if its true anymore, you couldnt just put a SB Live! in, you had to get the special, more expensive mac version). How about powersupplies? When the PSU in your mac goes out and you just swap it for a generic 550W PSU? Nope, you need a special one (that costs more).

    They may not spend on R&D for products (just assemble them... but they pay someone else to do R&D on products), but they do R&D on the business side. How else can they crank out so many computers so cheap? Really efficient supply/production.

    and people on campus no longer have trash cans in their dorm hallways - they have to take their trash outside to a dumpster.

    OMG! I feel so bad for you poor kids having to walk your trash out to a dumpster!

    Trash cans in the dorm halls are a great example of the state wasting taxpayer dollars.

    Now just a minute while I walk the trash from my dorm room to the dumpster outside.

    You may be accidentally overclocking, since the 333FSB 2500 and the 400FSB 3200 both use the same multiplier.

    Theres nothing more restrictive about WMA with DRM than AAC with DRM. Look at the Wal*Mart music store: they're selling songs for $.88 with the same restrictions that Apple has on iTMS download.

    There are twice as many players out there (4m) that support WMA w/ DRM compared to AAC w/ FairPlay DRM.

    I got $225 credit from Toshiba over some floppy drive corruption issue (I never used the floppy anyway). Bought me a new battery :)

    But I agree, some class-actions get crap for the class.

    Try polywell.com for the Opteron machine.
    Dual Opterons (which smoke G5s in SPEC) are about the same price as the Dual 2.0 G5. Single Opterons (which match G5s in SPEC) are cheaper.

    Ah, but with graphics cards you need the special mac version that works with OpenFirmware and costs $100 more. Same deal with soundcards, you need the special SB Live for mac, which costs $50 more. It's industry standard slot size, and Apple standard prices.

    Actually, it was $1.52B, an all-time record for a companies sales on a single day (beating their own record from last year of $1.43B).

    Look at the actual restrictions placed on the files. They're the exact same as Apples (3 comptuers, unlimited portable audio devices, burn a playlist 10 times). Just 11% less expensive.

    AVGAS goes for $2-3/gal ($4 in Las Vegas... I hate them) in the states. At least $20/gal, 'cause they gotta get the stuff down there.
