As a small web developer, who do you target as your clientele, and what's you means of getting to them? I ask in all seriousness, I know some people that have done this and have failed almost every time do to the lack of clients, or unreasonable clients [I can't pay you but you can put it in your portfolio, or here's 1k I want you to build me "a facebook"].
I suppose it's very market dependent, but if the OP lives in a major suburb, it's more likely than not that there's not really many independently owned small businesses that will need his services.
Beatles Apple Records did sue Apple Computers years ago. Some agreement was made, I believe by the courts, that because they were in different industries [music vs computers], it was ok. When Apple Computers started up with the iPod and iTunes Music store, the issue was brought up again. I recall that that was actually one of the reasons the Beatles didn't have anything in the iTunes store for a while.
Gee, it looks like $3,799.00 to me, must be the font I use.
Oh, and that includes:
Visual Studio Team Foundation Server,
Visual Studio Client,
Expression Studio,
Office Professional Plus 2010,
Project Professional 2010,
Visio Premium 2010,
Development versions of all Microsoft OS's and applications
The day I join Social Networking is when I can host my own personal P2P SNS that does not allow any huge corporation like Google to analyze my personal data and relationships.
Why isn't there a good Visio clone for OS X!!!! Omnigraffle is a great program, but it's not Visio. It's the most common reason I have to start a Windows VM. Concept Draw Pro is nice as well, but has enough incompatibility problems that I can't use it when I need to exchange drawings.
It's not $5/GB when you've only got 2 DIMM slots, as most laptops have.
Another big killer is disk access, unless you're using a nice SSD, the disk access has serious performance penalties. Of course, you can get laptops with 4 DIMM slots that also support 2 HDs.
Intelligence cannot create intelligence equal to or greater than itself.
Have you never heard of intelligence fusion? Or even basic probability, statistics, and confidence modeling? There's a whole science based around enhancing the confidence of uncertain information.
Government year end money; use it or lose it. I've seen this happen before, they're a few hundred thousand laying around allocated to hardware acquisition. They need to spend it fast, so they find something related to what they do and get something newer, bigger, and better...
I agree, and never said anything about having to purchase those two items. It was simply a response to parent asking about overpowered weapons. I love TF2, and I've never spent any money within the game [outside of initial purchase, and donating to groups to help maintain servers].
I'm hoping the free to play doesn't change that. Although I'm pretty sure it won't. TF2 appears to be Valves experimental playground. I'm pretty sure they aren't making money off it, breaking even probably at best. It's a cheap game [I don't know anyone who spent more than $10 on it] that's been maintained and updated for years. It appears to be more a showcase than money maker. Maybe it's where they test new developers?
Now that the Backburner has compression blast capabilities [even with a higher fuel cost], I think it's slightly overpowered. Natascha is a little overpowered as well, it's slowdown effect ensures anyone caught in it's stream will suffer much more damage [even with the per hit damage reduction] than from the base minigun. These aren't overwhelmingly overpowered, but they are a touch more powerful, and in the hands of otherwise equally skilled players can make a difference.
The key thing that bothers me about this is the item set / ensemble benefits will probably increase in order to encourage purchasing.
Look at Plenoptic Cameras and Integral imaging for current real world implementations. Computational imaging is real and heavy used [in certain areas].

What app do you use for the offline GPS capability?
Fuck, I've always said "a computer can beat me in chess, but it can't take me in kick-boxing". :(

You can, it's called a listserv.
But that's Google's business. Search isn't their core business, advertising is.
The used book stores I frequent charge sales tax.
The paying more than average trick is neat. Keeps driving up the average so that people late to the game have to pa more. I like it.
There's a stretch of highway near me in Silly Valley that's HOV or toll
That's what a HOT (HOV or Toll) lane is.

Ever wonder why the option at the end of every damn Government spending cycle to NOT spend the money is never an option to choose?
Nope, I never wonder because the answer is obvious. If they don't spend it this year, they won't get it next year.

It doesn't seem like this is something that they *want* to do. The reduced access is from their content providers, the increased cost as well.
Original cost was $7.99, now it's 2 x $7.99.
It's a 100% increase.
Unfortunately they're also having to pull things from their streaming service http://www.myfoxphilly.com/dpp/money/netflix-pulls-sony-films-from-streaming-service-dpgonc-061711/

Few women at a nerd college. I'll bet you one of them was named Jennifer, and I'm sure she was very popular.
because their lazy asses can't be bothered to learn how to do things the right way.

MapReduce is both an approach Map/Reduce and the name of Google's implementation of the algorithm.
