    Why does everyone get excited when Microsoft blows their own horn? Nobody really believes them and certainly nobody really cares. I prefer the era where Steve Ballmer was throwing chairs through the wall and swearing to bury Google. At least we could believe that. Speaking of, hows that going Steve?

    After 2006, Congress could have done something by bringing investigations to the point where impeachment would work. They didn't, and it's not going to be politically possible now. So, we have to wait out the term and sort through whatever evidence they leave behind.

    How naive to believe that there will be any evidence. The one thing that the Cheney Bush administration has proven is that they are experts at covering up their tracks. The WMD hunt should have proven that beyond any doubt. Cheney is a master at this, his Haliburton corporation comes under scrutiny over the heavy fraud and bribery charges in Iraq, so he moves them out of the country where the records cannot be viewed. There will be nothing but dust left behind!

    Aside from the piranha filled moat and the pit bull on the bridge

    1) divide your room from the equipment with a sound absorbent wall making sure that the equipment side of the room is well ventilated.

    2) steel storage cabinet with lock for tools and test equipment

    3) large lockable file cabinet

    4) white board for drawing pictures to explain to management what you just said

    5) a desk to use as a barricade between you and the door

    6) an outside exit cleverly concealed as a second equipment cabinet (along the lines of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe).

    It was pretty obvious to a lot of seniors living in deep southern Texas. A lot of us have canceled our AT&T long distance and gone with the annual Skype premium service. The annual charge was about what we paid a month with AT&T and we now can chat without one eye on the clock. I don't know about the non-techies in the 50+ bracket that you know - but I can introduce you to hundreds in the 65+ that Skype out constantly.

    The problem with PDF is that they can't get all that sickening motion that they overdo! I block ads because they are so damned obnoxious in their blaring motion that I find it difficult to read the text on the page. I don't block Google Ads because they are small and unobtrusive. I actually click on the Google ads. The blaring running monkey would never get my business.

    Sunburnt you speak for most of us. I have had a couple of aunts with Alzheimer's and it is a terrible thing to watch them die in such pain. People who don't see this as hope and support it, simply have never personally witnessed an Alzheimer's patient's death.

    I don't care for firefox myself, and I know in the USA and UK many who do use it do so only as kind of a protest to microsoft, I'll use systems that works right for me, and I'm not changing just to make some kind of political statement or anti corp. statement like I've seen so many phonys do, pretending to care so for the earth and its people, but what is the biggest thing they do? Change software, not shop at walmart, while buring countless hours on the computer making silly websites and statements using more energy. Wow, this is the angriest high school girl I've read. I hope she remains as strong in her opinions when she gets out into the working world.

    I don't understand why people just don't key their email to their contact list. If its not in the contact list you can elect to delet or put it in a spam folder. This would stop almost all the spam. I've used BoxTrapper for a couple of years and it has literally stopped spam from getting to my inbox. How hard would it be to incorporate that into a mail client?

My son and hundreds of British and American troops have given their lives trying to "WALK THE WALK" and give Iraq its freedom.     I believe that his anger is what got his article posted. I tried to make a civil post without all the expletives he used and it wasn't deemed publishable. My complaint was that I had paid Mandrake $165 for software that they refused to ship because I lived in a high fraud area (Texas). But maybe if I'd strewn the page with vulgarity I might have made print. It was my purpose to alert others to a potential problem as was the case with this rant about Google. I'll be surprised if this makes it either.

    In a not-so-surprising twist of the tables, RIAA reporting of 'losses' is a little bit off. Is anyone seriously surprised that lawyers would lie to us? I do my shopping on line to the extent possible because it's convenient and cost effective. Depending on the size of the orders I may or may not pay shipping - but I never pay the 8.5% tax which is always more than shipping.

    You can get that service complete with a toolbar from http://www.vivisimo.com which is a great search engine.
