I ran this for years, till I lost access to nonencrypted TV content. Really that has been, IMHO, the end of an Open Source DVR. I now have Dish, and i desperately would like to have access to the codebase to add enhancements. Most of which they would actually e OJK with. I am certain the auto comercial skip WOULD NOT be OK with them.

I have a high level of concern over this issue, also. I would be happy to pay a reasonable cost (say 50% of the TIVO fee?) for a reliable long term non changing source of listings. I'm suspicous of this whole "Direct" Zap2It thing. They want to issue you a "certificate", and then require you to fill out a survey. And for all this you get about 3 months of service. I suspect that their bussiness model will not work any better (if they have one) than so many of the dotcom models. Someone pleas convince me I'm wrong.

Many years agoa, Dell bought a SysVR4 license, and relased Dell UNIX. Then one day, after I had not contacted tehm for a while, I discoverd that they had all be fired, and Dell was distancing itslef rom UNIX. I was left with an unsuported OS. This predated Linux, so thier really was no other good choice for an OS for these amchines. I've never bought a Dell product since.
