If you are part of a gang that commits a crime, you don't get a pass later if you decided to quit. That is all Anonymous has really turned into at this point, a gang attacking websites who they don't like. They are no different than motorcycle gangs of the past.
I don't know the specific stories behind all those applications. If Apple thinks they can do something better, they will do it. They made a better way to buy music, a better MP3 player, a better smartphone, and a better tablet computer. If someone already had already setup an app store before the iPhone, I bet they either would have bought it or worked with them to make it the best service it could be. If Apple tried to make this App Store while someone else already had, there would probably be a lawsuit over trying to monopolize the market.
Developers had 15 years to try and make something. The only thing that has come close is Steam, and that was on Windows until a few months ago. Now Apple is making it easy to find, purchase and update applications it is suddenly a necessity. The funny thing is if such a thing already existed Apple would have promoted it.
With a price tag like that, the upkeep is going to be astronomical. When they upgraded our local school to have air conditioning, they couldn't turn it on because it would cost ~$25,000 just to start! They are also talking about turning a perfectly good grass field into astroturf at a cost of 1 million dollars.
CCP had the brilliant idea of letting players buy time codes and then trade them in-game. So one person who can't afford to pay with cash, can pay with in-game money. CCP still makes the same amount in subscriptions, it is just another person footing the actual cash. I am surprised more games don't do this.
Now CCP makes even more money as every time code destroyed is free money in their pocket.
Most modern blenders have protective lockouts so that the blade won't spin if the pitcher is not attached.
You can still turn the blender on and stick your hand in. Just because you can does not mean you should. There is one spot on the iPhone edge you shouldn't touch if you want to make a call. It isn't even natural to touch it when holding the phone for a call. If it bothers you so much, put on a bumper case or return your phone. What is wrong with people today.
People would complain about having to fill it with gas. Apple did all the right things here yet some people are acting like they are going to force their users to keep their broken phones which get no reception. Never mind about being able to get a full refund within 30 days or a free case or just holding the phone like a normal phone.
Take a look at the Dow Jones average over the past 30 years. Take note of how in the past 12 it has huge fluctuations. The current system of trading stocks is broken. The market moves so fast it is all in the hands of computers. It needs to slow down.
Their idea of minimalism is clearly dead. Why do I need an image distracting me from a page I only visit for a couple seconds? It is not like a desktop which you will be looking at a lot. I go to Google.com to search the web, not look at a picture. To even attempt something like this shows they have lost their way.
Apple has released an updated iPhone model every summer for the past 3 years. The recent leak was all over the prime time news, morning talk shows, everywhere. Even Joe Smo knows that a new model is coming out in a month. There is likely a dramatic drop off in iPhone sales after the leak announcement, which tanked the quarter sales.
The only fanboys around are the ones who point out everything terrible about the iPhone/iPad every time it is discussed.
It depends on the situation. If you turn on an iPhone and it has the alarm going and telling you the phone number you need to call to return it, then chances are you are breaking the law if keep the phone.
In some jurisdictions it is illegal to keep found property without first trying to locate the owner. If the phone tells you who owns it and how to return it, then yes you are breaking the law by keeping it.
The average person doesn't use Google.com? Google has advertised their new phone a few times.
Google has free advertising to millions of people every day. Apple is at the disadvantage here when it comes to advertisements.
One of the biggest nostalgia factors of UO is housing. While other games have implemented instance housing or a rare few incorporated it into the main world (Star Wars Galaxies), no game has come close to copying what UO offered. UO offered not only function (storage of items) but the ability to decorate your house anyway you like. There is literally no limit to how you can design your house to look. And that was before custom house designs were introduced. That is all some people played UO for, it was the ultimate experiance for casual gamers.
UO has huge potential still and always will. Unfortunately the game is owned by EA and they constantly fire people, even when the game is seeing improvement in subscriber base.
Everyone has already switched to MPEG4, that was the entire argument. The market has already determined that MPEG4 is the best out there and everyone is running with it. Until something comes along that blows MPEG4 away in most aspects, there is not going to be a change. Just because it isn't open source does not make it a bad pick.
I have played America's Army a bit and there are a ton of active duty military playing the game. So it has quite an appeal. Plus the army runs training simulations with America's Army. So it has many more benefits than just being "a game". Of course some people are still going to claim it will be a waste of money.
If you haven't played, it isn't just another FPS. The game is based on realism. You don't respawn after you die. If an enemy sees you first you die. There isn't kill streaks that give you power ups. Oh, and the current version is super buggy. Probably because they fired the entire development team after the last release.
It sounded like a performance comparison from the Slashdot article title ("OS Performance -- Snow Leopard, Windows 7, and Ubuntu 9.10"). I didn't read past the system specifications because of this. While the review wasn't based on performance it would be a good idea to match both machines anyway.
: For testing Windows 7, I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate Edition RTM on a Dell Inspiron E1505 notebook with 1GB of RAM and a 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo processor. To test Snow Leopard, I did an upgrade from Mac OS X Leopard on my MacBook Air, which is loaded with a 1.86GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB of RAM.
So the Windows machine is worse in just about every way. It doesn't even have the same type processor (Core Duo vs Core 2 Duo). He should have just installed both on the Macbook with Bootcamp.
That is precisely the sort of attitude that gets us enhanced pat-downs and video cameras monitoring our every move.
I can't believe you got marked insightful with a comment like that. Advertising = TSA? What a joke.
Isn't there a big empty space down the left side of most pages? What is the difference between it being blank or there being an advertisement there.

You had kept your password as password1, yet are complaining about Verizon being able to change your password?

I could stick my hand in a blender and have my fingers it chopped off. There are no excuses for this defect.

Waiting for the next iPhone coming in a month which everyone knows about due to the leak.

You mean like when you turn on a lost iPhone and it shows a message saying the phone is lost and to please call 1-800-RETURN-ME?

Why should they be a bank? Their primary purpose is enabling transactions not the usual roles of banks.
Yeah, they only hold, transfer, convert, store, send, give cashback bonuses, interest, etc. They are nothing like a bank at all.
