At which point one has to have a whole bunch of your friends flood the kde and gnome bug trackers with this bug. followed by sending emails to the dev's with the same exact example code that only fills their desktop with links to said bugs. That should hit them with a clue by 4 to fix the hole.
The solar corona is hotter then the surface because all the churning of the surface is so violent it vibrates the atoms in the solar corona to a hotter temperature.
see "Magneto hydrodynamic waves, and the heating of the solar corona" by Alfvén, Hannes for more information.
Have you forgotten that he and the vice president has staffed the justice department with riaa/mpaa goons? Not only will this pass and become law here even if it violates the constitution, but there will be a roundup of file sharers afterwards.
the one that was supposed to kill what apple thinks are illegal install's of it's os? if it was it looks like it has a pretty high friendly fire rate..
allot of police districts get most if not all their funding from seized drug money because there are laws in place that allow them to take a portion of the seized money to their by fund said activities.
He is talking about steam. not only are you forced to run it always in the background when you play the games. it will call home every time you start a game to see if it's legit even if it's for lan or single player(yes i know one can get around it but do it too often and it will complain). It will prevent you from even running a game that is not up to date even in single player mode or lan, which is a pain in the rear because on some games the newest patch is not always the best. The ability to arbitrarily and without notice change requirements of the game like forcing people to up date their os's to play games that without steam would of played just fine. the subversion of your fair use rights of being able to take the games you buy to a buy sell or trade store when your throughly sick of it to get some money back on your investment, on top of that boxed games that require steam can't be sold by ebay or any buy sell or trade stores because valve has publicly announced they won't accept those sales as valid even if the buyer proves he has the legit cd and proof of purchase. the fact that it removes from your control the physical medium of the game, some of us have isp's that don't like it when you download multiple gigs of data just because one little file in the steam cache(which you are not allowed to open btw) gets courpt.
to put it bluntly at the cost of my karma, if a game is on steam it's not worth playing. i DO NOT support companies that treat people like this. though on a side note i would find it funny if they ported steam to linux, it would be the first official spyware program for the os.
See my post higher up. company's are allowed to lie how ever they wish as long as they include written or spoken in the ad that the ad shows atypical conditions like car ad's. what is getting apple in trouble is that they are lieing, but they do not put such loophole words in their ad's.
The problem is not that apple was lieing about the performance of the iphone, it's that the ad doesn't have the legal loophole words. 'performance may vary', 'closed course, professional driver', etc either printed or spoken.
i have to say that the competing company in the mail order prescription provider in which i work for is in just about the same situation considering how open their security policy's are. both production and non-production computers can access the internet, and both have about equal access to private customer information since even the non production break room machines are used for accessing the internal prescription database. yet all machines have their anti-virus software turned off and the break room machines allow any user to install what ever software they want. tried to make a comment about how bad this is to my local management but he said he could not do anything because computer security policies are determined by corporate and they have deemed this set up 'safe' which is ironic since they encourage the use of internet explorer due to their internal network system will only work on it as well as the website they outsourced their hr department with(hrdirect).
.. a TWO word link on the very bottom of the front page only does not mean they are giving proper thanks to the people they are standing on top of. consider that most of their games are dos based they should have a note of thanks at the TOP of EVERY order page for EVERY dos game saying 'This game is run in Dosbox(link)'. it doesn't bode too well on their attitude that their 'thanks' page is hidden. Though i have to admit it's better then NO mention.
Means NO dollar of mine will enter their bank account, while i am not a F/oss zealot Taking other people's work that they do just for fun and using it to make a profit without thanking them or compensating them is wrong.
if i had mod points i would mod you up. love it or hate it p2p & streaming content is the future. If the isp's refuse to upgrade their infrastructure and try draconian control measures(including lobbying the government) they are just hurting themselves in the long run. imagine if netflix went entirely to a download and play model? the internet infrastructure here in the united states can't handle that, and for a country that prides it's self for being number one(though in most cases it's not even close) it's a shame that the country that birthed the internet does not have as good of broadband as japan or korea.
to make a comparison if one would snap their fingers and make the water system of this country like the isp, every house would fed by a pipe smaller in diameter then a garden hose connected to a 12 inch diameter main. while the water company's complain about people taking showers. I do admit that some isp's are getting hammered at both ends(from their customers wanting more bandwidth and the telco's charging them a arm and a leg) but isp's like at&t HAVE NO EXCUSE for not upgrading the infrastructure.
it's not just fallout three. it's the industry in general. daiblo 3 is another example, the health orbs are a example of dumbing down a game because god forbid a game must not always be 'fun' or making the game so simple on purpose that people younger then 10 will have fun playing it when they should not be playing it in the first place.
it's up there as one of the most annoying aspects of modern games, next to being treated like a thief first, pirate second, and a customer a distant third.
*chuckles* if you even half expected that from bethesda software, then you are a bigger fool then i thought. all i saw in the game play video is oblivion with guns. the beginning was/exactly/ the same with the 'start off in a dungeon.. excuse me vault'. with a generic/blob/ of a character. surrounded by model's that they probably spent more time on then the rest of the game. you are then greeted RIGHT at the exit of this dun.. i mean vault with a character generator ala oblivion. Once you open the door your temporally blinded.. just like oblivion. your first impression with the landscape is 'wow' just like oblivion. that is until you spend more then a half hour looking about only finding that they mostly copied and pasted the landscape giving you the 'meh' feeling. the interface is just like oblivions except that it now looks like someone slapped a lcd into your eyes. health is not called 'hp' and mana 'ap'. probably just a simple rename to try to appease some fallout fans. the idiot's compass is back underneath the health, I am surprised they did not point it out ala oblivion as a feature to allow you to ignore the c&p landscape and find something to keep you awake. Did i mention the same overuse of bloom lighting is still there making everything have a 'made out of plastic' feel? calling it a urban shooter would give them too much credit on creating games, i would call it oblivion with guns trying to be a urban shooter while at the same time trying to give at least a thin vainer of rpg aspects. This might fool the players who grew up with games like morrowind or other rpg-like games. but to players who liked or grew up with the dos d&d games, etc. it might feel more then a little like one of the dozens of other shooters.
all in all this is one game i am not going to waste $60 bucks on. if you want real games now, go to the independent market.
That if your job can be done via telecommuting, then your company can just as easily fire you and hire some guy in India or china to do the same thing.

have you run any source based distributions?
open office is the largest single program and it takes 4 hours to compile on semi modern Core2 Duo T7100.
Some people are just fanatical fans of certain operating systems.
The artist of one of the on-line comics i read is a devoted amegia fan.

The trackers would be ok, they would just go after the people who download from it.

can you post your source for such information?
keep playing the game offline for more then a week to simulate a storm related service outage and steam will royally bitch.
look back at the 80's video game market crash. the same stuff that is happening now happened before that event.
the one that was supposed to kill what apple thinks are illegal install's of it's os?

i wasn't going to post till i read this..
THAT is exactly what a emulator does.

because it then won't satisfy job's control freak personality?

both blue-ray and hd-dvd have the remote kill switch option of the drm standard. why do you think it requires a net connection?
