    Whats the deal with all this Fry's bashing? I don't have a Fry's anywhere near where I live (not even in this State), but when I first heard about Fry's I heard nothing but good. Now, it seems, all I hear is bad. What am I missing?!

    Can anyone point out a new technology that was 'safe' when it was first deployed? It seems that every new technology has some security defect, or some other flaw. This reminds me of DirectTV smart cards.

    Less than the weight of the fuel it would create. As such, it doesn't matter. Even a few hundred lb of gear is worth the investment... IF there is enough water.

    Have you actually used the service? You can specify how many messages you recieve from EACH address you give out. You can reset the counters anytime you want. You can also DISABLE the counter at any time. Its a great service!

    I HAVE tried Halo on the Xbox, I play every few
    days. That said, I'm STILL a mouse/keyboard
    guy! I could do away with the keyboard, but
    only if there was a similar device to
    replace it with. The thing I would really
    like to see is a mouse, with a mouse I can
    look in any direction at any time with a
    minimum amount of movement, and with great
    speed and accuracy.

    I would LOVE to see a matchup between a user who is very good at using the XBox controler and a user who is used to using a keyboard/mouse.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but Microsoft doesn't even sell to the distributors at that low of a price...while managing a (startup) computer store the cheapest we ever found legit WinXPpro KEYS (no CD) was around $50-$60.

    In my area AT&T wants me to update my (TDMA) phone to a GSM phone...and in the proccess I loose about 60% of my home coverage area. Sound good to you? I don't think so. I switched from SprintPCS to AT&T BECAUSE of AT&T's coverage. I fear the day my phone dies, maybe by then the GSM coverage will be better in my area.

    sometimes it is quicker to scp file username@host:file enter password than it is to minimize all windows double click my computer double click a half dozen times to find the file you want right click and copy click start click run type \\computername right click and paste OR start from the mac, view windows machine over the network (after sharing the correct folder) and double click another half dozen times, option(?) drag the file to the mac.. I guess we know why CLI will always be around eh?

    The nice thing about a BASIC Stamp is that it can be reused. Instead of having lots of components you can have ONE Stamp and reuse it over and over again. I doubt they bought the stamp just for this project.

    The first compressed MPEG audio file I ever created/downloaded was an MP2. Yeah, thats right, .MP2 I got the compression software from ZIP, it was designed to put CDs on ZIP disks. I don't think I ever used it for that. Some time later MP3 was born. I remember the days of downloading MP3s from websites, and IRC. Those were the days. I remember when I first got my cable connection, I was having fun with my 100K/sec uploads to others on IRC. I don't think MMCable liked my 1/gig up and 1/gig down each day...
