It's obvious Darby that you have never taken a close look at what happens in the Middle-east, Arabian coutries, and Northern African countries. Now I'm not saying that they are all bad and that all the people from those areas are bad.
What I am saying is that there are A LOT of groups and regemes (sp?) in those areas that actively hunt and kill Christians and Jews, because it is what they have been taught to do from pre-school age. In fact it is actually required of state schools to teach this in some areas (namely the Palistine vs Israel issue).
So I would say to you and those who may be thinking along the same lines... take of the blinkers and LOOK at what is happening in the WORLD TODAY, not just your own back-yard.
Survival of the fittest may be seen as a good idea for software, but one thing I don't like about it is what happens when the fittest is flawed and the unfit aren't?
It has probably already been mentioned time and time again, but I will add my voice to the chorus. It is not a problem with the LCD, it is a software problem. Grab a copy of Knoppix etc and see for yourself. You didn't install any driver-type software for the LCD did you? If you did, try removing it as in all my time in the computer industry, I have not come across a single display that needed software to work.
Don't you mean that it's proof that we live in Hell? Come on we know that sequals et al usually kill the original, so why can't they leave the good ones untarnished?
it didn't seem to be cheap enough to warrant not buying a Tivo
At risk of repeating what may have already been said elsewhere. For those who don't live in (or even anywhere near) the USA, Tivo and ReplayTV et al are not an option.
Close one eye. Spot the difference? Nope, me neither
Count yourself lucky, one eye makes things all blurry, the other all wobbly. Given the lenses I have in my glasses to correct this, I have to turn off a lot of these fancy effects. When I think about the fact that I don't particulaly care about not having them (so long as my PC does what I tell it to) I would have to agree with the first question... why?
If it is win98 you want to install the simple prcess would be to place the laptop's hdd into another machine (either with win9x or botted from a 9x boot disk) do a "format/s/q" on it, copy the cab files to it then put it back in the laptop, turn it on and run "setup" from whereever you copied the cabs to.
Your obviously not a musician are you? I know that many people enjoyed the new music, but lets face it, it killed the entire flow of the end sequence. It's supposed to be a party George not a wake!
Or is it... We use OOo where I work and I also use it at home. One the Celeron stations we use at work it runs like a dog. On my Athlon XP at home it screams along at a similar speed as my installation MS Office 2000 (I keep this installed for those odd occasions that I need it).

The variable 'clue' should really be named 'HasClue'. And people wonder why others have a hard time understanding their coding...

Just tried this myself but I don't use FireFox (yeah I know it's blashphamy). When I was downloading it I couldn't see anything to say that it was for Firefox only, and guess what... it works fine with Mozilla!
I build computers exclusivly with Seagate drives, they have proven to be the most reliable drive I can get in NZ. Previously this was Maxtor's position but their current models are proving to be a complete waste of time.
if you shake your head you can see the dots moving!
Didn't work, my eyes keep focusing on them and holding them still. As for the headache, have special glasses for that so no real issue.
Nobody but yourself is putting you on a cross.

New. Levels. Of. Yanking. That. Teet.
Oh no, please don't tell me that William Shatner is going to be in it... [runs away screaming]

Let's give this technology a test drive:
Sounds like something out of "Bewitched" or "I Dream of Genie"
Well as they say, at least we know that XXXX is actually spelt with a 'b' and 'r' and two 'e's.

"Robot Eats Files to Generate Power"
I read it as the same thing and was tring to decide if it was a good thing (clean energy?) or a bad thing (destroying documents to stay out of jail?)
If booting from a USB drive is the answer, then howcome that Windows XP can't format my USB pen drive so it will boot my PC?

So when IE gives you one rounded corner and three square ones (I just did a little test) does it mean that they only support 25% of the w3c standards?
You didn't look very closely, the vertical scale says "HTTP requests / 5 min" as in the number of requests per five minutes.
This would also by pass any restricted sites your company may be blocking...
Maybe, maybe not. I've been playing around a bit with DansGuardian and am fairly certain that it can still do the job without any serious tweaking.
Irony or not, it is a good way of testing a system like this under extreme conditions. Just the fact that it is still running says a lot.
let's face it - OOo is SLOW

And I quotith:
"We're at an early state on that but it is something that we are pretty excited (about)," Gates said,
As I said in the subject, me thinks he needs a hobby. Getting excited over patents, now that is just plain concerning.

Sorry to break this to you mate, but you didn't get the part.
