Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but the coating would not stop the car from deforming. It may redistribute the impact over a large portion of the front of the car (assuming a head-on collision), but that will still be more than enough to crumple. It may protect your paint job though.
Hey, nothing is certain when quantum theories are involved. Couldn't some probability wave collapse one way to form black holes and another way to form MECOs?
But if there are really redundant posts, is it really deja vu? Or is it similar to a case where you can be considered paranoid even when people really are out to get you?
Yep, only I usually don't tell people about my deja vu experiences. And deja vu to me always feels like "this" happened to me weeks, months, or even years ago. Even when it's logically impossible. I've never had deja vu feel like I'm repeating an experience from the same day.
If differences in electric potential, heat, pressure, and so on can be used to generate energy, why not calm/fear? I think you've stumbled onto the president's plan to stop relying on foreign oil.
Can't the same argument be used to demonstrate that we can't see in 2D since you can rotate a plane so you can only see the edge? Ok, you won't be able to see the edge since it's infinitely thin, but I hope you get the point.
And stereo vision is more than just recognizing angles on objects, at least for people with two functioning eyes. The brain overlaps the two 2D images, as seen from different angles, to form a 3D image. Granted this only works for very close distance. At larger distances, having two eyes as opposed to one is only useful for widening the field of view (and redundancy, I guess.)

I'm assuming you wouldn't want to live in such a world because of the cyborgs, which play a FAR greater role in the GitS world than the humanoid robots do. The professor's robot wouldn't be a cyborg unless there was an actual brain transplant involved.
So when will we have a White House press release accusing Washington Post of endangering National Security by revealing that the CIA has records of using waterboarding torture?
You know, with all the coverup and claims of "This program doesn't break the law but we can't tell you why because it would endanger National Security" I have the sneaky suspicion that at some point in the past the government passed a secret law, most likely utilizing some loophole, declaring the CIA and NSA and a few other agencies to be above little things like normal laws and the Constitution. Maybe they even created a second Constitution just for these agencies. And of course they would see releasing this information into the public as endangering that National Security.
The coming election will see any realistic choice who might dare to challenge the forming dictatorship having his character assassinated by this NSA data.
Why bother when the electronic voting machines make it so much easier to change the vote count to anything they want?
Older series, he's a guy (Judge Snyder I believe). This is from the episode "Bart - The Murderer." When during Bart's trial Skinner comes into the court room and tells his story of how he was accidentally trapped in the garage (and that Bart didn't kill him), the D.A. requests that the testimony be struck from record. The judge responds with a vehement "DENIED!!!" I only remember this because at my previous job it was one of my co-worker's favorite Simpsons lines to quote.
Simple. The Good Guys are always fast enough to reach into their coats, pull out a gun, point it into the right direction, and shoot before the Bad Guys can even think to squeeze the trigger on an already aimed weapon.
Either that or hand the iPod over and then shoot the mugger in the back.
Wait, don't tell me people think either of these approaches are wrong....
Please don't ruin the Girls are absolutely evil equation.
Even if they were biting fast enough, it would be like getting your hand hit with a sledgehammer instead of an axe. Not much comfort.
I'm still waiting for those time-warping shape-shifting bodysuits from the Hyperion books.
In the video link given in one of the first comments, the liquid works against stabbing, which is much slower than any bullet.

Even the article is from 6 days in the future, according to the date on it.

Those aren't power pellets, they're frozen embryos!
Are you saying that the Toyota Yaris is hundreds (thousands?) of years ahead of its time? Or would it be a retro thing?

Could've been worse if your dad had been in a London metro station. They fulfill their quotas in a different way.

Go ahead, throw your vote away! MWAHAHAHAHA.
Because this way you end up buying more than you need of at least one of the products. Unless you need a multiple of 24 hot dogs that is.
Personally, I think voting should be MANDATORY for all citizens
Wasn't there a South Park episode about this?

2W standby for 24 hours is also the same amount of power that a lit 60W bulb uses up in 48 minutes.

No, but I heard the voice of that judge from the Simpsons.
