Isn't the Betamax Defense not applicable to this situation? I thought it only applied to physical media... Could someone clarify for me and anyone else who thinks similarly?
Over the years I've been using gentoo, I've noticed that it has become MUCH more userfriendly. The documentation has improved dramatically, and now there's a graphical installer. Will this increase gentoo's install base?
I believe that the strength of Linux comes from the fact that it has a central core, which is compatible with basically everything across distros. This makes faster development, and combined with a charismatic leader (Go Linus!:o) makes a very strong platform for an OS. These are my personal beliefs, so feel free to flame me if you disagree:)
It's over for this election, but what will stop it from happening next election? We need to fight for legislation to stop election fraud, or else anomolies like this may affect the 2008 election.

They have good ideas, but is there any way to submit an idea for other people to do, if you're not so mechanically oriented? (I soldered my screwdriver to a case once) It looks like you have to do everything yourself for any submissions =/
No... you CAN'T read a book through this.
From Google Print's FAQ:
Can I read an entire book online?
No, afraid not. Google Print is designed to help you discover books, not read them from start to finish. It's like going to a bookstore and browsing - only with a Google twist. Google searches across entire books in order to find the pages that are most relevant to your search. Once you're on a book page, you can 'flip' two pages forward and back, view other information about the book and even conduct another search within the book.
The controls of a flying car would probably be difficult to use, compared to regular cars, since there is another axis of movement. Unless the car only goes up when you press the accelerator pedal, it would seem that getting accustomed to it would be fairly difficult. Not to mention the crashes you could have
Whoa, that's not what I meant. The GP said that it was impossible, and I gave a counter example. Its not that hard to strap together 10k pounds of Octol and blow it up. This could even be psychological warfare, attempting to scare us. Who knows? We should wait before jumping to conclusions.

The treaty bans WMDs in space. Therefore, using Bush logic, Saddam must have some there! Everyone, we know where Saddam is hiding them! :D

This means that the moron in office will be finally out! I wouldn't put my money on this though.
Solar flares will make it go berserk, I gather from RTFA'ing.

What happens when his opponent hires someone to use millions of proxies for him to drop out of the race? Or something similar?

Easy to disprove. Just give the dated source, with CVS log. NoCatAuth existed far before the claimed date.

What about the state sponsored outsourcing? The US government is actively supporting outsourcing, examples here, here, and
I was thinking that it would look more like this
Er, no. North Korea and China are enemies. They just had mutual enemies at the time.

You're saying that if North Korea just nuked itself, we wouldn't take the chance to go and kill them? Think again.
