It's already happening and it's all thanks to Steam. Look at the games on greenlight; most support linux. Those that don't, the forums are filled with people asking for linux support.
Look at kickstarter; most games being made by indies are going to support Linux
Part of the problem is that if you want to buy the books through B&N, the digital copy is generally the same price as a physical copy.
They were expecting to make their money by selling ebooks, but were not willing/able to price them competitively.
There was a story recently about computers at drone facilities being infected by Windows-based viruses. And we've known for years now that the connection to the drones is not encrypted (which is why $500 worth of laptop+sat cards allows insurgents to view drone feeds).
Somehow I doubt the drones themselves are of much higher caliber software wise. Wouldn't surprise me if the software and hardware isn't protected.
After wiki-leaks especially, it wouldn't surprise me if Iran had their hands on source code and hardware specs already and DID bring the drone down electronically.
WebOS is really nice; got to love the multi-tasking.
But let's look at some of the bad parts.
A browser that is unusable if you have more than a few websites open. A complete lack of apps (even after installing preware).
Even after overclocking to 1.8Ghz, it takes a good 5 seconds after turning a PDF page for it to "unblur" and come into focus. Oh, and the browser does that same blurry, unfocused crap too. Often for more than 15 seconds.
Because at the time, they were the 'only game in town', simple as that.
And we see how well that has worked out for them.
Companies need to realize that they need the developers and not the other way around. If you treat them like shit, they will jump ship as soon as a competitor comes out (instead of, say, developing for both platforms).
> easier Agreed, easier and lazy. Much like the majority of trash you'd find on NPR
Some of the leaked VMs show something scandals.... he donates to children’s charities!
Funny how no one is running with that story.
OP is incorrect. Mario 64 is only on the Wii. You can access it via the Wii mode on the Wii U, but you CANNOT use new controllers.
Nobody is listening, the computers are converting it into text.
Reading is a different story.
Makes me sick listening to that fucking traitor.
Too bad we're not a democracy.
If a human's job can be filled by a robot, why should we have a human do it?
>> Meanwhile most Uber drivers I've met are effectively operating their vehicles as cabs, but are insuring them as pleasure and commuter cars.
....asking a lot of Uber drivers for their insurance paperwork, are you?
Except that most Wii U titles are 720p and not 60fps

I'm excited
Good job guys
no one trusts the "justice" system anymore. One minute of using an automated tool is apparently a worse offense than crashing the economy.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as they don't have an Amazon instant video app for android they've already lost.
I'm sitting between Chicago and Milwaukee (South East Wisconsin).
Not only did Sprint not have Wisconsin listed on their 4G website, but service around here has gotten MUCH worse in the last few months.
I got sick of throwing away money for shit service and went to US Cellular. Awesome service/speed.
You might pay the extra $ for your laptop computer, in order to save power and lower the risk of failure due to dropping.
I know I'd never go back for my laptop, personally
SDSSDH-120G-G25 has known firmware issues, with no firmware coming out for it.
Not firmware updates for the majority of their drives. Spend the extra $5 for a company who supports their products
If you treat your IT staff like shit, it's no wonder you end up with staff that can't keep drones out of enemy hands.
Since it does SD instead of HD, you get less "Buffering/adjusting playback" issues.
ALL models have Wifi as well.

On the touchpad, one of the big selling points was the ability to print to HP printers.
Of course, most HP printers didn't work. Like my LaserJet 1018. Or Color Laserjet 4600.
Come to think of it, never got a single printer working with it. There's a reason HP's profits are down 90%.
Is it so hard to have an ARM version of CUPS that can print to everything?
I've been unable to find anywhere that WebOS for the touchpad will get another upgrade. Source?
You realize that by default it will dual-boot?
:P
So you get the great multi-tasking of WebOS, but with the great app selection (and browser options...) of Android.
Netflix, minecraft, Firefox.... I certainly don't consider it a downgrade.
