I keep hearing about a mushroom-cloud over N Korea. But I don't see any video/pictures, period. Anyone there that owns a camera? And took a picture of it? And has internet access?
I believe this is where well-armed private militias, like we had in the late 1700's and like the Constitution & its creators planned for us to have, would come out and say, "Waitaminute."
I didn't know I said that. And the idea that Bush is responsible for al-Qaeda's shenannigans, when al-Queda declared its war on us when he was Texas governor, is quite laughable. Or too convoluted to parse. Your pick.
What would stop Bush from calling for a third continenetal congress to reconsider the Constitution itself once the neocons have a lock on all three branches of Government?
Um... the voting public, maybe? The recall-functions in California & other states, and calls for impeachment. If 51% are right and 49% are left, and the lefties speak logically, many on the right will listen and join in when necessary.
The whole concept of trickle-down economics was just a feeble excuse to cut taxes for the wealthy.
Yeah, because the wealthy never buy anything with their money. Oh, and they shouldn't be allowed to save it, either. How dare they think it's their money? Gimmie!
remeber what the United States was like before the current administration
Yes, the United States was on the verge of attack and didn't know it. Ignorance is bliss, right? Gee, that's so much better than now when we have a clearer idea of who our enemies are.
But I like the current activist judges! You know, the ones that suddenly decided the Pledge of Allegiance should be changed because, like, it's a prayer or something since those two words are in it. And the ones that decided to go against what the law states, and let gays marry anyway--rather than let the laws be changed first.
Yeah, those are great. We don't need some stupid Conservatives (with a capital C) to come in and keep things in line!
Government, at least the creation of laws, should be inefficient. It's another check against governmental power. Some of the worst legislation was very efficiently passed--right after some crisis prompted it (the PATRIOT act is the obvious example).
Can you say, CAN SPAM Act? I knew you could. Yep, just take away those states' rights, and let the federal gov't mandate spam. Good job, go get re-elected, moron.
For the record, is there a place to talk about such issues (a live/. forum or something), without having to post to random articles when these things happen? Then we could also see posts from/.'s admin team saying "Yeah, we know, this's waht's up, we're working on it." and so on.
I just can't get over how awful (visually) this film looks, based on the trailer.
Apparently, that's the point. The style itself is supposed to be some throwback to the early 20th century (I guess people were hazy-looking then, changing from black-and-white eyes will do that... )
Ain't funny, except that last bit. The parent post (#10206868) is Insightful, because it points out that a lot of supposed evidence on one side outweighs a little of supposed evidence on the other, and to still hold onto the other is almost folly (of course, it's all "supposed", but all things being equal...)
Also, how difficult would it be to circumvent? Especially with WiFi. Hack in with a powerful laptop, send a looped stream of nothing happening coming from the camera, and then do as you please.
Or, abuse the camera-network and its pan/tilt/zoom abilities for your own uses. Stalkers could make use of it.
Of course, both would, if caught, probably be Federal Crimes (tm) and maybe even "terroristical" if they can make that jump.
Umm... okay so this is completely OT but since my only other way of getting to you is AIM, I'll try this first.
What's C2 all about? You put a link to it in your signature, but gee, there's nothing at all to see unless you're already invited in / registered. So, what's the point? Or is that bragging?
Of course not. Politics hasn't had a new article in over a day. I think the admins are boycotting it. Heck, I sent a story, but no dice.

Well, maybe that's a bit much
The idea of clearly-delineated good & evil is a fantasy, not something to look for in reality. Of course!

Based on other books each author has written, I'd give Bernard Goldberg more credibility points than Eric Alterman. Maybe that's just me.
I'll stick to objective journalism versus obvious partisan information thank you.
So you'll stick to nothing, then, huh?

Yes, I'm finding random things not showing up with many comments I've clicked on in the past while. Strange.
Quite on-topic, IMHO. I'm out of points, of course...
Is it just me, or does this sound a lot like Pentium's MMX marketing in the mid-90's?
How about Konfabulator? Seems it was good enough Mac is incorporating their own version of it into their next OS.
If these are forged, why did the White House release them?
I was under the impression the White House didn't release these documents, the Pentagon / DoD did (allegedly).
If that's the case, then mod the parent of this post down, for not knowing having RTFA.
CBS's reputation is at stake...

Bwaahahahahahahahahaha

I agree. With all of the e-voting articles, this definitely rates the front page.
So with this new system, we'll be seeing loads of "Mayor Daley is always watching." signs?
