I'm not sure what you're claiming. Both of those pages list the hard drive capacities for base configurations, not the "up to" capacities. I know as a fact that the current generation iBook G4s start off at 40GB.
Hey now, it's not just ads you click on, they can also track which ads you view. And if either the HTTP_REFERRER variable or an argument string on the URL for loading the ad divulges what page you're viewing, the admasters get to track all the pages you view that contain their ads!
I have worked with cookies extensively, but haven't come across any bug or other clever means of using cookies to track a user's movements *across* websites.
Dude, couldn't you use a centralized ad service like google or doubleclick to track visits to all kinds of sites that cite those ads? The ad site can use the referrer or a GET request annotated to the ad URL to keep track of what page you're looking at. If cookies don't go with image requests, I bet they'd still go with iframes.
Yes, but 640x200 mode allowed 2 colors -- i.e. monochrome. 320x200 was the 4-color mode (with two different pallete choices + a choice of background color, IIRC).
(1) I would say 10.1 -> 10.2 -> 10.3 more resembles Windows NT 4.0 -> Windows 2000 -> Windows XP. Even then it's not a great analogy, since the timescale on the Mac side is compressed by maybe a factor of 2.
(2) Don't try to argue with PC gamers that the Mac is a gaming platform. Technical superiority is only one aspect of a gaming platform. Availability of a mass of games is another. But for the online games, perhaps the biggest factor is popularity, critical mass. It's easier to accomplish this on Windows, and it can (not always) be more fun to play when there are a lot of other people playing it.
But the thing is, today's stock market is highly speculative. Earnings do not mean what they should. All else is not equal. Even today, too many stocks are valued based on little more than hear-say.
It's actually quite essential these days for a lot of areas of CS like graphics, numerical methods, wireless mobile networks, robotics, computational geometry, etc... On a related note, as I'm sure you know, algorithms developed from algebraic geometry are highly related to fundamental algorithms in symbolic computation.

Tell me, how do you like working as a man-ho?

You know, farmers in countries such as the U.S. make heavy use of computers and the Internet to monitor weather, plan crop cycles, check on the markets, etc. By giving these rural Indian farmers access to that kind of information, the intent is to help them do better business, become better off, and allow the rest to follow. It is much like planting a seed, isn't it?
"Java and Netscape will replace operating systems?" -- Hey, at least they were half right. Java hasn't really delivered, but graphical web browsers have.
Shut up, I drive a Kia because it's the best car out there, not because I need to compensate for something! So what if it cost more than a Porsche did 30 years ago? It was worth it!!
Modern spreadsheet applications are a full programming language. It's a nice interface to learn about programming, because you can see the results of different steps of your program in spreadsheet cells. Furthermore, she can make use of it right away to manage her finances.
You could get her started programming on a spreadsheet. It's a nice visual interface that lets you see the results of different steps of your program in cells, and she can actually make use of it to manage her finances.
It's interesting that you say you say "how's it goin'" to strangers you pass on the street. Whenever I get that from people, I don't know how to respond -- if I'm passing them by, there may not be time to say "ok" or whatever, but then again, I don't want to look unfriendly by not responding. Do you have any advice?
Health of all future generations? The article cited said the plutonium dioxide fuel had a half-life of only 89 years, and they were talking about lung cancer, not something inheritable.
Come on, SecureDigital is just the followup to SmartMedia; CompactFlash is the only real option. Even Sony makes cameras with CompactFlash slots (as well as MemoryStick), because they know that when you're serious, CF is the only option.
Get a Model M Spacesaver and attach a PS/2-to-wireless adapter. You could probably fit it inside the keyboard housing. If you could get PCKeyboard.com to make a custom wireless version of a Model M Spacesaver with an integrated trackpoint, all the better.

the Apple IIe is where it's at. (Or is that the ][e?)
Neither, it's the Apple //e.
DP as in DTP as in Desktop Publishing.

In the end, I would say live and let live.
Yeah. That's probably how it is, a surveyish thing, although hopefully a little more coherent than the AI surveys.

What do you mean by "They actually send images and image change data in ascii pixel maps. I was impressed."?

Why hello, Mr. Darl McBride, and welcome to Slashdot!!
Not to mention Google...

For the keyboard.

It would be amusing if someone wrote "first post" in the, um, cavity.
