By your comment, I assume you did not dig deeper, so I will spoon-feed you. Steve Mann (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Mann) is a prominent researcher in augmented reality. He's been part-cyborg for over a decade. The current device is screwed into his skull. It does not record video, except when damaged. Oh, and he's Canadian, so rather than being an 'uppity prick' I bet he kept saying sorry.
Please PLEASE have the things say, in a deep electronic voice, "Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof." while walking. If they do that, I will buy all of them immediately.
Also, there's a moral issue with conscripting innocent animals into a war role. Apparently there's no such moral issue with using machines to kill people.
Unfortunately, I don't think this particular implant would help. With Macular Degeneration, the retinal damage is not limited to photoreceptors. Depending on if she has the 'wet' or the 'dry' form of MD , there are some treatment options.
Take a look at http://www.hatualikoni.org/hatua/volunteer/ In addition to the listed tasks, they may need some short-term help setting up the computers in their new library.
Oh great, now I have the Paul Simon song stuck in my head:
"People say I'm crazy
I got diamonds on the soles of my shoes
Well that's one way to lose
These walking blues
Diamonds on the soles of your shoes"
They had a reason: they didn't want to support it any more. This should have been obvious when Sony started to ship the PS3 Slim with no OtherOS support even before they removed it from older models.
By that logic:
When Apple no longer wants to support Netflix in their Apple TV units, they can just push an update, and remove the reason why I bought it.
Microsoft can decide that only OEM or MS keyboards should work with their OS's from now on, and push that in a service pack to my old XP box.
It's mostly in developed countries that poor people are fat (poor being a relative term). In "third world" countries, rural people who are poor but not at starvation levels do not end up fat like people in cities. They are more likely to eat basic grains, fruits and vegetables.
When I was in college, and living on an extremely limited budget, I found that a big bag of rice was a lot more economical than Mac&Cheese, and beans and broccoli were a fraction of the cost of McDonalds or ramen noodles. Advertising, convenience, and lack of nutritional education contributes to the paradox of fat poor people.

Yet dogs are in common use.
Get a Care Bears backpack for your laptop.
My condolences. My grandmother passed away at 102 as well, this past February. She too said that she was ready to move on.

Will you be speaking Sumerian?
One AC +1 to another AC? I call sock puppet.
Moheeheeko, please read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agent_provocateur
That’s all right, that’s okay. You’re going to work for us someday. (Jangles car keys.)

Exactly! University of Maryland: Terrapins, University of Delaware: Blue Hens, MIT: TIM (the Beaver) ...
Amen. And when you depart for another job, do you leave the hardware behind, or do you it with you, along with the data.
By that logic:
Now it's called cloud computing.

THX 1138. Judging by the comment score, over the heads of, or before the time of most of this crowd.
It's a straightforward critique; one ok dish, one mediocre dish, one really bad dish. No hyperbole, no profanity. Color Benihana Streisand.
Yup, mine too. I found references for last guillotine execution as Hamida Djandoubi on September 10, 1977 (Wikipedia and http://www.capitalpunishmentuk.org/guillotine.html)
Sounds more like something for the hot coffee mod.
Just as could convert a single-sided 180K disk into a "flippy" 360K disk, with a paper hole puncher or an exacto knife..
AC troll complaining about government waste because of the $400,000 NSF award in 3... 2... 1...
