  1. Fuck of Time Warner. Nickel and Dime someone else. on Time Warner To Offer Unlimited Bandwidth For $150 · · Score: 1

Bandwidth usage doesn't decrease. It never will.

Limiting your users bandwidth, is a sure way to kill your business as an ISP.

You're greed, and quest for growth and profit is going to destroy your company. You know damn well that your services are overpriced as they stand now. Thats why you can offer that new "$15 for 1GB a month" plan.

Time Warner even says that 30% of its subscribers fit in that 1GB usage area. Well that means right now, they have 30% of their subscribers paying $50+ dollars a month, where as in the new plan they can pay $15 a month?

Somethings not right here Time Warner. It seems to me that you're overcharging 30% of your subscribers and you still dont make enough profit to cover cost? I'm calling BULLSHIT.

This is a way to increase monthly charges. You cant honestly tell me that Time Warner is perfectly happy with giving 30% of its subscribers a deal on their monthly bill. No business is that honest, certainly not Time Warner. That would mean 30% of its subscribers is now paying $35 less, but the 70% high bandwidth subscribers are now going to be paying a $1 for every extra GB? Do they expect those people to download 35 GB extra a month to make up for that $35 dollars they're losing on the other 30% of their subscribers?

It seems to me that Time Warner knows that right now, most of its subscribers use MORE than that 35 GB extra a month, other wise they would not be doing this.

The end result is, a sneaky way to increase your montlhy bill from $50 to $90-$150 a month (depending on how much over you use).

Do you get charged for using their On Demand services? Does that bandwidth go against your limit?

Frankly its all bullshit and Time Warner knows it. Stop playing magic tricks with your customers and start realizing that those virtual signals that travel those copper wires and fiber cables... they should be GETTING CHEAPER with the increase in demand... not more expensive.

How much would you pay for an intel 486dx2 CPU today?

Time Warner was never a good ISP and they were always a poor cable TV provider. Nothing is new here.

I'm on Verizon FIOS and i love it. Granted they nickel and dime me for HD TV and the cable boxes... but atleast its not time warner :)

Verizon TV is an evil deal. You pay for the monthly service, but if you want to actually SEE it on your TV, you must pay for cable boxes. So imagine this sceneario. You pay the monthly service but dont pay for the set top boxes. Bascially that means you have cable tv that you cant see.

The fucking brilliant minds at these "providers" are insulting cheese dicks.

But i'll still take FIOS any day.

Ok I looked it up to see which shot you were referring too. It has been sometime since I've seen the film.

I just watched the clip on Youtube.

Just because the camera is not visibly behind Moore in the shot, does not mean there wasnt a camera :) You can easily tell a camera man to move out of frame. In that shot Moore is being shot from below by a camera man on the stairs. That is why the camera man isnt visible in the Heston walking away shot. He's below the opposite camera who is behind moore's jacket. I just watched the clip on Youtube. Now on the reverse... The camera man is still on the stairs and the other camera man is behind Moore, who is a very large object capable of hiding a camera behind :) The opposite shot of Heston walking away is shot from right behind Moore's jacket which would place the cameraman in perfect hiding behind Moore for the reverse.

Thats one explanation. That probably was what happened in reality.

Now theres a possiblity that they tried to do this and it failed for whatever reason, for example the camera man was in view behind Moore. Perhaps Moore decided to do an insert shot and reenact the shot for editorial purposes to remove the second camera man who was behind Moore on the "live" take. Thats IF it is an insert shot. I'm not entirely convinced that it is yet but even so, it doesnt mean that he is factually lying about what took place.

Honestly, I dont think Heston came off bad in the interview. I think he just didnt have an answer. Moore simply asked the question "why is it that we're more violent than other countries" and he even goes as far to relate it to Canada who has plenty of guns, but they still do not kill each other statistically on the same level as Americans. So I dont feel Moore was out to get Heston or blame guns themselves. He was looking for a discussion that I dont think any of us can answer... but we all should have or atleast be aware of this unique situation. Heston didnt have the answer, no one truly does. Moore didnt... Moore was really there to ask about the NRA being insensitive and showing up to defend guns wherever there is gun violence. Personally I like guns. I'm also terrified of them, especially in the hands of humans. I still like them though. I would never kill anyone unless my life was threatened. Moore even says he agrees with the second ammendment in the interview. I think Moore was hinting at the lack of subtlety we have as humans. We're quick to grab the gun and do violence with it. which actually supports many of the NRA's claims that the GUN is not the problem... Its us. Moore simply asks... Why ?

Anyways... This is what i mean by saying Moore comes more from the heart. Its an internal question about ourselves. Same thing in Sicko. Why do we do these things to ourselves when its clear that we can do far better for each other? Healthcare should be universal. It creates an industry around taking care of people, and that industry will never go away. Universal healhcare should happen and it needs to. I think Moore asks these questions to look at ourselves and wonder why we're so selfish and violent. Whats wrong with caring about each other and being more aware of ourselves as beings that really need each other... Maybe thats what we lack, and the answer to his question to Heston? Maybe we lack an honest awareness of how important life is, so much that kids in school will pick on the weird kid carelessly, and in return they'll shoot up the entire school without a care. There is a central theme here, and its that we dont honestly care about each other when we should. Otherwise dont be shocked when kids kill each other, or when hospitals dump the sick on ghetto street corners.

Again, I think Moore comes from a place of the heart, where has his critics tend to go after him with hate.

As for the camera thing... I'll relate this to Sicko, which i felt was a heartbreaking film... but there is a similar situation in it that i personally noticed. The trip to cuba scene where h

Well and frankly he shouldnt... he's illegal.

The game is rigged. Its not just "market value" or "worth" that is TRUE when the game is played by the rules. However no one plays by the rules.

That is why we have illegals working in our country, and the government does nothing about it. Its why we citizens hire them as well. NO ONE plays by the rules, and the result is "market value" or "worth" becomes a race to the bottom that ends up being cut throat.

What the market will bear is an interesting term because i think people play the market right past its breaking point. It can bear a lot, but we're at a point were we push what the market will bear, people's values, etc... to levels that are impossible to sustain a living in our own economy.

So while i agree in theory, and under great ethics, things such as "pay by their value" is acceptable... It's not acceptable when that value forces people below the poverty line.

The game is rigged, its a squeeze play that has squished all that it can. I dont care how pretty the roof looks, if the foundation is rotting... everything will come down. ... and thats whats happening now. You can only bullshit the economy so much before it breaks.

Illegals, H1B, outsourcing, overseas manufacturing.... are the problem.

Min Wage isnt the problem, nor are Unions. This country existed fine with those things for some time, and they only became a problem when businesses were allowed to place their wages against the slave wages of overseas workers.
