I disagree very strongly. My main operating system is Windows, which I operate on my University desktop. But, due to restrictions at my collate at my Uni, I can't use bittorrent or other peer2peer programs.
I have therefore got my old P2 350 running at home, and via SSH, bittorrent all my wanted TV shows to that, before FTPing it to my Uni box.
I'm a linux extremist? No, it just gets the job done.
Assuming he means just swimming to it accross Penesseewassee Lake. Otherwise he's fucked. You ever tried swimming through urban environments? It chafes.
He might be ok with the gulf stream. It rarely ever goes faster than 1 metre per second, usually around 0.2-0.6m/s, and it's a surprisingly short band of water.
Still, I'm with you, I'd rather swim from America. Especially since then he wont have to worry about US immigration so much.

What if a person's attempted infection closes any possible holes for anyone else? Couldn't a Mac fan somehow patch the machine with his/her own virus? How will they prevent securing (disabling infectors accessing) the machine by DoS'ing it? How is it in their interest to admit they've been compromised?
Surely it infact promotes competitiveness, natural selection and all that, stopping stagnation? The rivalry between KDE and Gnome I'm sure drives the two parties to out-do each other, more than it creates compatibility problems.
My apple lossless files...? Why would I have those if I didn't have a Mac? To me it seems more of a use to Mac users, who already have the files; it might help increase compatibility between them and 3rd party programs, for multimedia editing purposes etc.
So this all comes about from the 'sexing up' of the War in Iraq coverage? What a shit reason. Wow, it failed once in 77 years of governance. That's a bloody good track record in my books.
Just because the government are pissed off that it made them look worse, it was better than 99% of the other news sources, *cough*BSkyB*cough.
It's just bitterness
Anyone remember that massive page-sized advertisement the BBC took out in the newspapers with the peoples names which basically gave a finger to the government and pledge support to the high figures. Good on them.
And you should learn to lighten up, and not be such a retard. So everytime someone refers to the SS it makes masacre any less serious?
Get real you over-sensitive clod, we live in an exaggerative culture; we say we're starving when we're hungry, we say we're 'dieing for the toilet'. Does this make dieing and starving any less horific?
His SS comment was a fucking simile, not a humourous parallel.

Non-free!?! Damn, I just downloaded it 8 times!

If everyone RTFA we wouldn't need the comments.
Rube Goldberg's inventions
Jar Jar was CGI? Damn, I thought they just got some foreign kid with ADD and put in him some piece of shit suit.

There are only two H's and two E's in 'Sheesh'
Maybe not the point, but it worked for apple in OSX.
'parallel platforms stagnates progress'

The BBC will always be around. Well, for us Brits anyway....
Why publish it if you don't care what they think?
Just because they shouldn't expect him to change it, doesn't mean he shouldn't care what they think.
If someone told me I was ugly, they wouldn't expect me to have plastic surgery, but it'd still hurt.
The BBC has no ad revinue, it gets its funding from the UK tax payers' TV liscenses.
Surely that's a reason to use it? This is third party, allowing you to use the formal without their OS....

Apple the New Microsoft? Another one for the neophiliacs

Has someone got hormone problems?
He can mirror the torrents but keep the same tracker.
Looks just the same to me
Very good game though if you've got some free time and you're a games workshop fan
Will Slashgot get sued linking to a site that link(ed) to MP3's?
And surely search engines do this?
'Turn off the monitor and it should make a good webserver off a UPS for quite some time.'
Errr, what monitor?
Or perhaps they read Anandtechs's review saying it was positively scandelous to sell the unit with 256MB RAM with such expensive upgrades.
Good review for those who care.
