I was in the exact similar situation last year when I bought my Prius C.I exactly new what I wanted.
So I went with Costco Auto Program finally. But I still did not have the greatest experience as I have documented in my blog post.In todays world of internet etc for new cars , we should be able to know the price which we are going to pay upfront, it is not rocket science.
Disclaimer : I am in no way related to costco or any of their affiliates.
the next generation of young kids who have grown up in an online world with smartphones and tablets online education is a natural progression.
personally i think a combination of online study and then follow up with classroom interaction might give the best of both world.
apart from the office environment i would also recommending downloading http://workrave.orgfree/open source) which will constantly remind you to take micro breaks.
I have started documenting some the stuff I did with knoppix to build my htpc solution. It is not complete but just a start.

After I bought my GPS mouse receiver I searched a lot about mapping software which I could use for trip-planning,navigation etc under GNU/Linux. But there are none available which will run natively in GNU/Linux. You will find a lot of software which can read the output from the GPS and show your position. There are open-source projects which can even show your location on the maps, but the maps do not have Street names.
So the thing which is missing is lack of a mapping software that is a software which has maps of whole of North America with Street Addresses/POI etc. Also the software needs to have features like voice recognition,auto-routing etc. I wish Delorme or someone would port their software to GNU/Linux.
I like feeds of http://del.icio.us/ where anyone can submit their bookmarks and the most popular bookmarks can be seen. There is also an extension for our favourite broowser Firefox at http://delicious.mozdev.org/
I have the generic model BU303 USB GPS receiver which you can buy from ebay for around 40 - 60 bucks. The guy ships from hong kong. It readily works with my debian box. The mapping software available for GNU/Linux is non existent.I know http://www.gpsdrive.cc/index.shtml(GPS drive) is available but it does not have features like auto-routing/street -level maps which are absolutely essential for driving.
