    convert electronic voting machines into slot machines!

    I suppose if customers didn't even play and cashed out right away they knew and should give it back. Maybe even have to sue a couple. Actual criminal charges is a bit much as thats almost entrapment. I'd ignore anyone that played more than a round or 2 and cashed out as winnings.

    Unless it clearly states everything in dollars, very unlikely as the machine didn't even recognize dollars intially!, they need to leave some room for doubt. Lots of games convert to credits. Someone could assume a typo in the price schedule, etc.

    Isn't that a bit impatient? Is wireless fast enough to reply in that fraction of a ms ?? Is that not like .06 ms ???

    Even if it got an answer would it know it at that rate? And would it know which request the answer was to if it is sending requests faster than it can get an answer?

    I was thinking along the same lines.....

    Quietly announced .... like the TV ad i saw yesterday!

    One would hope they are available or someone wasted and ad budget...especially as i don't recall the name of it.

    If it is only test/selected markets, i wonder if we have a better cel network in lil old Spokane than one would expect. Was that Disney settop box thingie wireless, that WAS available here a year before it was announced.

    OK, they are further defined later on with enough ifs, ands, and buts to make it perfectly unclear as too what is included .

    Wish i could have upgraded my computers this year in the same way i built them, but i could only afford to rebuild one :(

    Years ago when i built my ubercool mod boxes i could not decide on Intel vs AMD...so i built one of each :) Turns out that an Athlon 2400 was indeed a tad faster (at gaming anyway) than its Intel counterpart (P4 2.5) I am guessing it would be a wash if the P4 had HT like the newer ones. So at least their old naming scheme was pretty close.

    Glad i got 4 years+ out of those boxes with only 1 GPU change and an extra memory chip. I had no need for hardcore systems at the moment so i snagged a super cheap Core Duo left over from work :)

    tigerdirect is now selling refurbished premium units

    Only a 90 day warranty tho. I don't really have an interest in paying $150 a month for a couple video games, cause i dont trust it to make it that far. ($300 for unit and 3 $50 games with no guarentee any of it makes it past 3 months, and some chance it may spend a chuck of it in the shop)

    Now we know where his 1st 10 units went....

    I have 1 friend with an xbox 360, i lost count on his returns after unit number 3 :(

    What is the point of having all that cool test equipment and cameras if you can't break stuff ?!?

    hehe, 30 years later i still remember a trip to the local power station that had the test equipment for powerlines and stuff. They crushed a large ceramic insulator til it blew up. Took some insane amount of pressure like 20000 psi. Quite spectacular. They had a rig for pulling apart a powerline too, we would have killed for that test ;)

    I like the other way too, tho i have been on both ends ;)

    I took my 1st computer class at the community college when i was still in high school. Took all kinds of permissions and crap, nobody did that back then, tho more common nowdays. HS only had one teletype terminal at the time. College had 12 or more plus...a graphics terminal.

    It is fun sometimes when the people you are racing online find out you are old enough to be their dad :) Oddly enough one of the most hardcore lobbies lately has most OLDER than me, not often you find a group 45 and up :) Makes it even better tho when someone finds out EVERYONE that beat them is old enough to be their dad :O

    Depressing to find out the 15 year-old punk is really a 40-something punk, hehe couldn't believe the guy was that old and couldn't form a coherent thought with less than a R rating...

    I leave voice off however, mostly i hear background noise and stupidity outweighing any useful info :( And my voice sounds funky so mic is off anyways. No I am not a drunken gay japanese-american from new england....

    Only thing i could think of was as a return point on a mars (and possibly moon) mission. It might make sense not to pilot a vehicle with a reentry shield all that way and back. With all the current fuss of the shuttle shield, would you want to take a shield to mars and back? Come back to the ISS and hop in one of the capsules to land or wait for your ride :)

    Downside seems to be that we might have to add an economy parking lot ;)

    It requires an operator, so it is not saving much manpower. Maybe one operator instead of two people to pick up someone? Is it flexible enough to run like hell if shells start dropping nearby?

    If it is not safe to send in the medic then wouldn't this be a good target?

    What happens when it gets shot? The image of it falling with someone in its arms isn't exactly reassuring :(

    Cool design, just not sure of a good use.

    Asheron's Call dismantled their in-game assistance after the ruling on UO :(

    Seems like they would be defined as auditors, how many auditors work for free? Then we are back to employees which was the problem in the first place....

    Of course the whole elected thing was brought up. The only way to get elected would be to be well-known which has zero relationship to good auditing skills or honesty ;(

    Naturally i have no solution that is better than the current lip-service :)

    hehe, i just posted below that even VHS sold like 30x more than the HD version for the original Pirates! (DVD was like 300x) All your friends must be on VHS now ;)

    VHS outsells them by at least a factor of 30 !!!

    Pirates of the caribbean ONLY:

    Video Rentals: $20,780,000
    DVD Rentals: $42,730,000
    Video Sales (to January, 2004): $24,400,000 --- around a million 1st month or two (dec 2,2003 release i think)
    DVD Sales (to January, 2004): $235,300,000

    I only assumed the second sold half as many as 1st, feel free to look em all up and get hard numbers you math freaks out there.

    So the 'winner' had under 50k, probably 25k
    VHS sold 1-2 million
    DVD sold like 10 million

    Sounds like the winner is quite a loser to me...........

    I know all i need to know about that subject :(

    I found it takes a 2GHz w/HT or better windows box to emulate a dumb terminal without a noticable lag because of AV/firewall in the background :/ Otherwise the remote terminals 400 miles away is faster than mine 25ft away from server. The old box running like a 1.4Ghz P4 and win98 with AV/firewall feels just like the old remote terminals on a 1200 baud line :O

    Oh, and why can't my 2.4GHz XP box keep up with my 386 in a DOS database program? An extra couple billion cycles and it can't fake it?

    If $10 profit can't pay everyone down the chain we need a shorter chain...

    Maybe all bands should put their music on video so we can get it in the bargain DVD bin instead :/

    Thank god i have all the music i will ever need to listen to already on Cd/record/cass/8-track. I have paid retail for 1 CD in many years and that was off ebay for a 10-year-old out of print one. OK, plus a DVD of the month thingie for The Midnight Special (70's version of MTV) at full retail ;)
