  1. Civil Disobience... on Court to Hear Landmark P2P Case · · Score: 1

Just because a law is broken, does not mean one should idly follow it, espeically if it conflicts with your own personaly princibles, (or those of whatever Faith you follow). In fact, if the LDS Church did not itself outlaw polygamy in the 1890's, I would still vigousrly practice it. No threat of jail time would keep me from praticing something I believe in my heart is a true and correct princible. Same goes with P2P's and Copyright. Nothing the RIAA, or the Courts do will keep me from using P2P's as I see fit. Jail me, fine me, whatever, I will not change.

Besides, its OFF SHORE, ergo, NOT IN THE US. The days of geeks making lots of $$$ are over, if thats what you want, switch careers.

Free trade is the only way to go in a now GLOBEL economy. yeah it makes it harder for theaverage joe program to get a job, however, if one is smart, you can always come out on top. IMO, cut the socailist agenda in the US. (IE cut medicare, medicaide, social security etc), cut taxes to the bare minimum, and watch as buisnesses once agian want to do buisness IN AMERICA, instead of seeing the anti buisness bull shit that comes out of capital hill every day! less regulation, and more of a leiza faire attitude is the way to handle out sourcing, not the other way around. Of course the computers would have to be heavaly sheidled to keep you from erasing your HD, and other little nasty things like that. But if such a method could be worked out, the suit could stave off the problem of discreasing muscle mass on a long, "deep space" voyage. Just a thought...

IMO, this is where the Linux cimmunity has gotten it wrong. We think that "Free Software" means you dont have to pay for it and that is not the intention of the GPL.

Go read the license agian and you will see that there is NOTHING that prohibits you from selling a program as long as the code for said program is made available to the comminity and people can change it to there hearts content.

I think such a plan in place with in a neighborhood, could concievably work. Also, sharing files, etc, with in the neighborhood would be faster cause said traffic would be sent over the local neighborhood network, and wouldn't reach the outside internet, thus, spreading around the bandwidth to limit the load on any one WAP. Much like the way Bit Torrent is used to transfer files to your computer, instead of there being multiple computers uploading to take stress off the centeral server, you would have multiple houses to take the stress off any one WAP.
