Agreed. It is simply too much hassle for one to change instant messaging networks like that. Changing my e-mail to GMail was bad enough, but telling everybody to add your new contact name, or worse, telling them to download a client so they can chat to you exclusively is just out of the question for me.

Yeah they were good except for one thing: grenades. They threw them at the first side of enemy or just within the first few seconds of the round at the wall which resulted in either a) the bots death or b) the bots death and lots of others being harmed/killed due to FF being on. They weren't very good followers either. Saw an enemy go round a corner and say "I've lost him". Sometimes it would just degrade down to a simple cat and mouse game at which time I would kill the bots in a fury!

This is true. In once certain post I remember Taylor Sherman (VALVe employee) said that some number of fake CD-keys had been tried and multiple attempts of credit card fraud, so they log nearly everything, even CD-keys that were invalid and failed. Can't find the post unfortunately - must have been pruned.

I do agree that they should be punished, and besides, they did agree that VALVe had the right to disable their account for any reason upon making a Steam account.

  11. Improving - Compare! on Is The Xbox The Cause Of The PC Gamer's Downfall? · · Score: 1

Although the X-Box is very good on the hardware side, and currently rivals PC technology (well almost, maybe its a year behind). However, if you take into account technology is constantly improving. You want to keep up right? So you must improve your current stuff.

Comparison: PC - shutdown, take off case, remove old hardware, insert new hardware, reboot. Its easy to do, and you only require minimum technical knowledge to do so especially if you read the instruction manual.

X-Box (and other consoles for that matter) - Everything already inserted and ready (could be nice for technology idiots but some of us like that kind of stuff), you have to pay for a new console (a couple of hundred), more space taken up (lets face it, the X-Box is no lightweight) with the old console and the new one.

I'm just trying to highlight the differences between upgrading and the advantages of doing so on both PC and console. Personally, the PC will always be better than any console.

  14. I've seen this before on Adaptive AI in Games - Does it Really Work? · · Score: 1

I've seen so-called "adapative AI" before. I can't remember what the games which utilised it were called but what I think they did, is take your score and increase or decrease the AI's skill accordingly. Although in SC:PT I think this might be actual in game, instead of calculating between levels. Either way, I don't think its that hard. For programmers, not me.
