  1. Cheese Sauce on After Launch Day: Taking Stock of IPv6 Adoption · · Score: 1

There is actually a reason for eating broccoli with a cheese sauce - the fat from the cheese helps to dissolve the vitamins contained in the broccoli, and our bodies get more out of it!

  2. I'll believe it when I see it on The Death of Booting Up · · Score: 1

My work computer still over 10 minutes to start up. Windows XP laptop. I can boot up, go the the washroom, fill my waterbottle, and come back to my desk with moments to spare before my desktop loads up and I can use the machine.

  3. Good Luck on Ask Slashdot: Mobile Data In Canada For a US Citizen? · · Score: 1

If you're in rural Canada (as I'm gathering from the statement "island only accessible from boat") then good luck with getting a signal period, let alone figuring out the phone bill logistics. I was in a town just 3 weeks ago that still didn't have cell signal. I think that's going to be your biggest worry.

  6. Re:Oh dear on Studying For Certification Exams On Company Time? · · Score: 1

You're expecting people to behave rationally. Also, the pain of working for some employer who is dicking you around might outweigh the above motivations to remain, so it might actually be a logical choice to leave.

Something you all are not taking into account is that a company who is willing to pay for your studies and let you use company time for them is probably a great place to work.

  7. Re:Your rights OFFLINE! on 9 MA Cyberbullies Indicted For Causing Suicide · · Score: 1

THANK YOU. I hate these "cyber bully" scare articles. This is just a case of run of the mill bullying. Sad, yes, but not Slashdot worthy.

  8. Education on How Do IT Guys Get Respect and Not Become BOFHs? · · Score: 1

Attempt to educate your users about the complexity behind the projects they ask for. Try to use simplistic terms, but it you can't, and the subject still goes over their head, at least you're giving them something to think about. Hopefully it will make them realize that what they're asking for isn't as simple as it sounds, and that they shouldn't expect it immediately.

  9. "selling their printers at a loss..." on HP Launches Ink Patent Violation Manhunt · · Score: 1

If I can get a new HP inkjet (obviously not top quality, but one that does the trick) for around $20, why should I pay $50 for a new ink cartridge? Common sense says get another new printer! I think they should be more worried about this fairly common mindset rather than whether or not patents are being infringed.

I've found that pretty much all lower end systems (by everyone) come with integrated Intel graphics. Look at the cheapo Dell pc's, you'll find integrated Intel.

  13. not a myth on Cow Tipping is a Myth · · Score: 3, Informative
