    Less than 10% of the US population gives enough money to their legislators to effectively command their attention. For the rest of us, the whole representative dog and pony show is sufficient to keep us pacified. Instead of herding us into silver mines at the point of a spear, we play along. So yes, a democracy just like the Athenians.

    At first glance, this looks like a novelty. But after reading some of the comments, if you could put some sort of sound attenuation on the turbine exhaust there are some commercial grounds maintenance people that might be willing to pay for such a powerful/lightweight unit.

    I have an IBM PC Case (Model 5150) with modern guts. I had to do some sheet metal work to the back to fit modern motherboard I/O ports, the power supply, etc. But yes, laptops are small and there are few standards for board sizes. One approach to upgrading a laptop might be to stick a Raspberry Pi where the old system board was

    Because the content provides would like to slice up the market into as many small pieces as possible and maximize the profit from each one.

    This approach doesn't work well within the United States, for example, due to federal consumer protection laws and interstate commerce issues. But between countries, there is no such protection, so it's game on to squeeze as much out of each market segment. Strange that multinational treaties (like the TPP) don't have 'single market' consumer protection clauses.

    Media distributors (not the content providers) make a pretty good buck dividing the world up into territories. And demanding a cut from the providers to do business in their town.
