Now that the methods for creating the exact same thing that is mined out of the best sites, only 100% perfect 100% of the time with no waste.... are becoming more accessible and common, it's scaring the shit out of those who have been in total control for as long as anyone can remember.
I remember seeing them on Discovery and stuff a few years ago, practical for that kind of use, but actually making anything more complex than a plastic model of something wasn't feasible.
NOBODY wants to be responsible for their actions anymore. Quite a sickeningly large percentage of parents just want to take the quick way out of any situation that involves their child.
They do not want to understand or do any of the work to rid it from their lives, they just want a magic pill.
Same with anything else really, nobody wants to be responsible for anything they do anymore, there's always something to blame, someone else's fault, something not of their own control or doing.
can destroy anything regardless of whether or not the target of the lawsuit is guilty.
This applies to anything within the bounds of our legal system really.. murder, theft, etc.
We have a system where you can "lose" without even losing the court battle, simply because of the cost required to defend yourself. It all seems to be a matter of who has the most money in the courtroom, whoever can file more lawsuits and pay for them, whoever can hire the most expensive lawyer for either prosecution or defense.
Why is this? Why must someone go bankrupt defending themselves? The expenses should be a burden of government (or more accurately, the people in general), I would take a pretty safe guess that if this were to happen, most of the frivolous battles that take place in our courts would cease to exist because of how massive a dent it would make on our economy.
One should not have to have X amount of dollars to defend themselves at X level from litigation, it should not be possible to "win" through harassment rather than by due process of law.
I pull 60 hour workweeks twice a month now, and did it for 2 years (feb 02-feb 04), only this time it's only temporary for a few months.
It can really mess you up, because you end up simplifying your life down to work/eat/sleep for most of that week, and almost nothing else because of the exhaustion (what I did for those 2 years was extremely extremely extremely mentally intensive, to the point of actually "working very hard" for a good 8-10 hours out of each 12 hour shift). It's offset by a 24 hour week the following week, so it gives you time to get 'life' stuff done, which I appreciate a lot.
60 hours or more week in/week out would drive me insane, and I would rather be making 30k and having a lot of time off, and being happy, than making 200k working 80+hrs a week and doing nothing else but work.
We'll just hack our way around it, fuck them and their ads, I work my ass off to avoid all advertising to begin with, I never even SEE *ANY* advertisement on the internet, and I change channels on TV whenever a commercial comes on.
I don't even have a real physical address anymore, a measure I took to avoid junk mail, it gets sent to my command, where I happily throw it in the shredder there.
I don't have a ground line, only a cell phone, because I don't want to be bothered by some idiot trying to sell me something.
This is why STORES exist, omfg! What a concept, a STORE!. If I want to buy something, I got to the store, or I look online for it.
Wow, amazing. I don't want jack shit force fed down my throat, and I will go to WHATEVER measures required to avoid it.
Now, don't jump ahead of me here, i'm not taking the bandwagon stance of "omgz they're with M$ so now they're just a mindless arm of M$ omgz".
It's more of a Microsoft has a little more influence now on 'em, so if they wave a few more bucks at them combined with whatever the massive sales will be (and they WILL be massive), there could be a 3rd game in the series, or perhaps an offshot of it, something other than a pure FPS, who knows.
All I know is that the IP(intellectual property) will be used again, it's too good not to.

It's just a tad more rare.

Sad really.
Plastic Surgery!

Maybe i'm just too idealist though..
prevent it.
The only people smart enough to realize and understand it are too few in number to actually do anything about it.
I welcome it though, it will bring quite a bit of chaos to the world, and chaos is always more fun than the norm.
about radars before you go making statements like that.

I know, but the mere fact that the NDA is STILL up a week before retail release....
is not good.
lol.. kind of sad really.
Read this hours ago on CNN, doesn't seem too interesting yet.
about it to friends or, in this case, people on the internet too.
Sometimes advertisements do weird shit in order to get the word spread.
This must mean the expansion is complete garbage if the NDA is still up (was up as of a couple days ago talking to the IGN site manager for SWG).
the gaming industry that is.

stupidity of those who try to degrade what he did on Crossfire.
You can't compare a satire show to something that's on CNN.
holy fuck, lol
lol What now, get our politics from the Comedy Channel? ahahhahhaha
Way way too short, hardly touched on anything, no real substance, just some brief remarks about each "category" in the games.
You'd think there would be 5 or 10 pages per game with some screenshots, quotes, etc..
shameless Anarchy Online props..

Belay that last post.
If the existence itself was classified i'd sure as hell know about it seeing how high up the food chain I am.
Might be a niche thing used only in certain bases/areas/whatever. Not doubting you, just saying it is nowhere near standardized.
Only question being how much money that is..
Never heard of SBU, maybe only the USAF uses it, but i've been stationed with USAF folks and on their bases and i've never heard of SBU. ;)
